WATEF, formerly the Asia Triple Helix Society (ATHS), is a membership-based organisation that is dedicated to research in three core areas: triple he-lix relations and more generally• TH : co-evolution in dynamic multi-actor systems • WSID: webometrics, scientometrics, infometrics, and datametrics and• FS: futurology and innovation strategy studies

“World Association for Triple Helix and Future Strategy Studies”

The principal task of the WATEF is to initiate and develop academic research, industry practice, and policy program that adopt TH(Triple Helix) and WSID (Webometrics, Sci-entometrics, Informetrics, & Datametrics) approaches in order to conduct ‘future strategy’ studies. What makes our work at the WATEF unique is our shared belief that TH and WSID become core methods of ‘future strategy’ studies.

Its activities are aimed at providing a rigorous methodological and conceptual basis for sound pol-icy-making in both developed and developing coun-tries.It aims to be a World Association by encouraging learning from and with international scholars and professionals, by contributing to the global creation and sharing of knowledge, and by supporting the ongoing globalization of innovation systems.

About DISC

Founded in February 2013 in Daegu, South Korea, WATEF organizes events throughout South Korea, including the annual flagship Daegu-Gyeongbuk In-ternational Social Network Conference (DISC), which in 2015 will be held for the third time. DISC and other events are always organized in collabora-tion with glocal academic, private sector and public sector partners.

“Daegu-Gyeongbuk Int’l Social Network Conference”

The first int’l conference on big data and so-cial network area in S. Korea. DISC is aimed at pursuing the continuous scholarly growth and building the university-industry-govern-ment relations. Furthermore, we hold the present international conference in Daegu ex-pecting local development in a wide range of areas in humanities/social sciences and their neighboring natural/engineering areas.
