cooperation.”

• Investigate complaints regarding all aspects of the Region’s Waste Management By-law

• Resolve service issues promptly and effectively

• Missed collections
• No non-collectible waste
• Safety on the roads (PPE)

• A guide for a consistent approach to achieving compliance
• Officers should always take a collaborative approach to compliance versus formal legal action
• Collaborative means seeking the co-operation of the offender first in every instance, using various communication techniques
• Complaints dealt with according to level risk, order received & violation class

• Full Program launch in September 2011– Public Service Announcements– Region website updates, FAQ’s– All P&E materials to reference bylaw

• As of November 2011, we have acquired new software (LAGAN) that will be used to identify geographic problem areas to target education blitzes
