Lincoln Memorial

• Travelers’ favorite is the Lincoln Memorial. History buffs might enjoy two famous speeches, the second inaugural address and the Gettysburg Address, which are all etched into the memorial’s opposing walls.

• The Lincoln Memorial is free and can be viewed 24 hours a day, but good time to visit is after dark. Because it’s spectacular when all lit up and less crowds. It is staffed until midnight and at the eastern end of the National Mall.

• Vietnam Veterans Memorial is one of the most moving war memorials.

• It is a long black granite wall with the etched names of more than 58,000 Americans who perished during the Vietnam War. The soldier’s names are ordered by the date they died.

• So it is aptly called “The Wall”.

• Arrangement is simple and powerful with flowers and cards. Respect those who sacrificed so much for you by visiting.

• The Vietnam Memorial is free and open 24 hours a day. It is staffed until midnight and at the eastern end of the National Mall.

• Everyone will have an indispensable D.C. experience with National Mall.

• The Mall is from the U.S. Capitol Building to the Lincoln Memorial. It’s a tree and museums lined grassy expanse that becomes the focal point of many tourists’ D.C. sightseeing.

• It’s an about five-mile venture.  Either toured by day around memorials or toured by night and enjoying the sights by lamplight. Be prepared for lot of walking.
