Failing to find faults in his message, in his character and the Book revealed to him, the enemies of the truth claim that the great Prophet of Islam was oversexed and busied himself with marrying women.

In this presentation we will show that Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) , like all the prophets in the old testament, married more than one woman.

Page 3: Was Prophet Polygmous

The main goal for the marriages of the Prophet wasn’t to satisfy sexual lust as they claimed. The goal for these marriages was more sublime.

History of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) will reveal that that he was above any suspicions.

Page 4: Was Prophet Polygmous

Polygamy was practiced limitlessly in Judaism and Christianity and in different ancient civilizations. All the prophets in the old Testament were polygamous.Islam did not invent polygamy but rather limited it and set conditions for it.

Page 5: Was Prophet Polygmous

In Exodus 21:10, a man can marry an infinite amount of women without any limits to how many he can marry.

In 2 Samuel 5:13; 1 Chronicles 3:1-9, 14:3, King David had six wives and numerous concubines.

In 1 Kings 11:3, King Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines

In 2 Chronicles 11:21, King Solomon's son Rehoboam had 18 wives and 60 concubines.

In Deuteronomy 21:15 "If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons..."

Polygamy was practiced before and after the time of Moses, who didn’t limit it to any number.

The Jewish Encyclopedia states, “While there is no evidence of a polyandrous state in

primitive Jewish society, polygamy seems to have been a well-established institution, dating from the most ancient

times and extending to comparatively modern days.”

Rabbi Gershom ben Judah is credited for forbidding polygamy in the 11th century.According to Father Eugene Hillman, ‘Nowhere in the New Testament is there any explicit commandment that marriage should be monogamous or any explicit commandment forbidding polygamy.

.

The Church in Rome banned polygamy in order to conform to Greco-Roman culture that prescribed only one legal wife while tolerating concubinage and prostitution

So why do missionaries overlook the old testament with regard to polygamy?Didn’t they read it?Don’t they believe in it?The new testament too do not ban polygamy.Jesus only banned divorce. Many Christian cults practiced polygamy and still do.

Page 10: Was Prophet Polygmous

How could the eminent Prophet establish a great religion based on monotheism while he was lustful?

How could he convince his adherents of his prophethood while he was lustful?

Page 11: Was Prophet Polygmous

Indicting the prophets in OT of

calumnies doesn’t justify indicting Prophet Muhammad too because they all are deemed high in their morality.

So ridiculous!!

Page 12: Was Prophet Polygmous

His days were filled with pains and torture. He had to face the armies of the idolaters in Makkah as well as outside of it.He had to face the plots made by the hypocrites against Him.Could a man like this be a womanizer? He had to face the machination staged against him by the Jews who allied with the idolaters. It was fearful aura and worry, yet he remained steady and defeated them all.

Page 13: Was Prophet Polygmous

Could a man like this be a womanizer? He defeated all his enemies and successfully liberated those who were under tyrannical rule.Could a man like this be a womanizer?

Page 14: Was Prophet Polygmous

• In his nascent state there were two fighting factions that urged him to reconcile between them…

• Could a man like this be a womanizer?• He had to face and foil all the attempts of the

hypocrites who allied with idolaters and the Jews against him. Those hypocrites were more dangerous than all the other militant enemies.

• Could a man like this be a womanizer?• Those enemies worked in cahoots with all the

other enemies to undermine the Islamic state. He, by his high wisdom, successfully dealt with

the troubles they made.

Page 15: Was Prophet Polygmous

Can any one who was overburdened with such onus be

lustful?• When the Prophet (PBUH) appeared in Makkah,

polytheism was rampant in the Arabian peninsula. He successfully eliminated it there in just twenty-three years and replaced it with monotheism.

• Could a man like this be a womanizer?• The idolatrous people became monotheists,

worshipping one God, and became pious and left the allurements of life and centered their interest on God’s pleasure.

Page 16: Was Prophet Polygmous

• Do you still think that the man, whose example they followed was lustful?

• How could it be logically accepted that they chose to leave the allurements of a mundane life ( wine-sex…etc) to follow a lustful man?

Page 17: Was Prophet Polygmous

How could the Prophet (PBUH) who presented an ethical system that even banned looking or touching women be lustful?!How could he be lustful while his law inflicted heavy punishment on whoever practiced adultery?!How could his adherents accept such heavy punishment while he was lustful?!How could his adherents accept to be flogged according to his law while he was lustful?!

Page 18: Was Prophet Polygmous

George Bernard Shaw in "The Genuine Islam" says: “ I have studied him - the wonderful man - and in my opinion far from being an anti-Christ he must be called the saviour of humanity.”Do you still think that the man, whose example they

followed was lustful? How could it be logically accepted that they chose to leave

the allurements of a mundane life ( wine-sex…etc) to follow a lustful man?

Page 19: Was Prophet Polygmous

• He always gave his share to the poor and the needy till they became rich. He remained most of his life living on water and dried dates if ever found. Could he be lustful?

• He would fast if he didn't find food and many times he tightened a rope around his belly to kill the pains of hunger although he could have led the life of the kings if he wished. Could he be lustful?

• At the time when kings around him were living in palaces, sleeping on silk and wearing the finest clothes, he chose to live in a room built out of mud and roofed with palm leaves. In his bedroom there was a straw mat and a pillow stuffed with old fiber.

Could he be lustful?

Page 20: Was Prophet Polygmous

His wives pressed hard on him to bring them ornaments like his companions did , but he, owing to the fact that he always gave in charity what he had, refused and then set for them a choice whether to

accept his life or to be divorced. So if he had chosen them for lustful ends, how could he have set this

choice for them? They therefore led the same life that he did and gave in

charity what fell in their hands.

Page 21: Was Prophet Polygmous

• Although his enemies were many and were seeking to find any calumny to defile and falsify his message, they never said that he was lustful.

• His adherents were persecuted and faced hardships for their belief, yet they were increasing. Could people face these hardships and believe in a man who sought to satisfy his sensual desires?

Page 22: Was Prophet Polygmous

• His life from boyhood till he became a prophet at the age of forty was known to his enemies. So, if there had been any immorality in his life, his enemies would have surely protested to his prophethood saying : "How dare you claim prophethood while you were so and so? "

Page 23: Was Prophet Polygmous

He had been nicknamed, “The Trustworthy” by his enemies before announcing his prophethood. Can this epithet be given to a lustful man? How can a saint like him who spent the whole night in prayer and most of his days fasting, be lustful? He was always sad because of his long fearing of God. Seldom did he laugh with an open mouth, just smiling. If so, how could he be lustful?

(1) mental evidences(2) scientific evidences (3) historical evidences (4) glad tidings about him in the Holy Book(5) He produced many seen miracles(6) He gave many prophecies that were fulfilled in his time and in our time.So he is a prophet and a prophet can’t be lustful in any way.
