After 40 years, Warren Rupp, Inc,continues to be a market leader in themanufacture of air and natural gas-operated double diaphragm pumpsand accessories. Founded on theinnovation of the first flap-typecheck valve pump in the industry, thecompany continues to grow byspecializing in providing solutions fordifficult pumping applications.

It holds a leading position in the air-operated, diaphragm pump marketwith the broadest range of pump sizes, types and models, marketed primarily under the tradename ofSANDPIPER® Pumps.

While there are hundreds of pumptypes manufactured, most can beclassified as either centrifugal ordisplacement, each having its owninherent design strengths andweaknesses. As a result, our companyfounder, Warren E. Rupp recognizedlimitations with a one-design-fits-allapproach to solving difficult pumpingproblems. Thus, the non-positivedisplacement pump, the air (or

natural gas) powered, doublediaphragm SANDPIPER® pumprange was created. This range offersour customers a variety of uniqueproblem-solving air-operated doublediaphragm (AODD) pump designs.

Today, Warren Rupp’s core pumpdesigns include heavy duty ball, heavy duty flap, containment duty

and standard duty configurations. While we acknowledge that even themost diverse range of AODD pumpdesigns cannot solve all problems orfill the needs of every pumpingapplication, we believe that there isno other pump type on the markettoday that is so universally applicableand so responsive to pumpingproblem fluids.

need of extensive cleaning orreplacement.

• Air is prevented from entering thefluid being pumped, so criticalapplications (example: ceramicslip) where air mixed with thetransfer fluid would degrade thefinal product can be performedreliably even in the event ofdiaphragm failure.

• In short, the Containment Duty(Spill Prevention) models offerbenefits unequaled by thecompetition that provide the leastrisk and best value for criticalprocess applications.

Our markets

Warren Rupp’s products are marketedunder the SANDPIPER® andMARATHON® trade names and are sold through a worldwide network of factory trained dis-tributors. Pumps are used to pump abrasive and semi-solidmaterials, products where degrad-ation is a concern, or in app-licationswhere electricity is not available orshould not be used. Warren Ruppspecializes in customized products forOEMs and other engineered productsolutions.

Our principal markets includechemicals, paints, food processing, electronics, construction, industrialmaintenance, utilities, process indust-ries, wastewater and sludge processing, and mining. Applications include:

A pump to suit you

Warren Rupp manufactures a widerange of pumps in a variety ofmaterials. Our pumps aremanufactured in aluminum, cast iron, stainless steel, hastelloy, poly-propylene, PVDF, nylon andnonductive acetal. Self-priming andsealless, they are ideal for pumpingabrasive, semisolid, corrosive andshear sensitive materials. They arealso chosen for applications whereelectricity is not available, or cannot be used due to safetyconditions. Diaphragm pumpsprovide pollution-free and energy-efficient operation, with fewer

moving parts than conventionalmotor-driven pumps.

Products include:

Heavy Duty Ball Valve Pumps – aunique top or bottom portingarrangement makes the pump trulyflexible to fit a variety of pipingarrangements or mounting locations.

Heavy Duty Flap Valve Pumps –which allows solids up to 3 inch indiameter to pass through pumpwithout damage to pump ordegradation to pumped product.

Containment Duty Pumps – itscontainment chambers prevent theleak of hazardous or expensive fluidsand detection devices alert operatorin the event of primary diaphragmfailure.

Standard Duty Metallic and Non-Metallic Pumps – a comprehensivefamily of air-operated doublediaphragm pumps available in;aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, hastelloy, polypropylene, PVDF,nylon and acetyl with numerouselastomer options.

Special Duty Pumps – ATEX Series,ATEX 100a compliance incorp-orates EC Directive 94/9/EC directly related to the use ofequipment in potentially explosive

environments. UL Series, UL79Certified Pumps are available for thetransfer of flammable liquids. NaturalGas-Operated, CSA (CanadianStandards Association) certifiedpumps are designed to be safelydriven by natural gas.

Tranquilizer® Surge Suppressor –creates a smooth laminar flow andprotects piping from undue stress dueto pulsation.

Advantages of WarrenRupp pumps

• Low internal velocities handleabrasive slurries with no damageto the pump or loss of volumetricefficiencies

• The gentle pumping action doesnot shear fragile materials

• Pumps high viscosity fluids• Heavy and pourable fluids

efficiently handled• Pumps solids up to 3 inch

line size• Sealless• No mechanical seals or packing

to leak• Self-priming• Maximum dry prime capabilities

up to 24 ft of water• Variable flow & pressure• Simply regulate the inlet air

concentration of heavy solids• Top porting for thin liquids, or if

entrained air could be a problem• Runs dry without damage or heat

build-up• No internal damage• Deadheads against closed

discharge• Discharge pressures equal to or

greater than inlet air pressurestops the pump without damage

• Expensive bypass systems andpressure relief valves not required

• The pump stops operation untilthe discharge is opened
