Special thanks must go to Kirsty Bishop Fox and Andrew Tonkin for their plan- ning and preparation. Aya At last Monday’s assembly we had our community presentation for Aya. It has been a joy to have Aya in the school. Her teaching skills have been a fantastic addition to our program and her warm personality, has made her a big hit with students, teachers and families. We wish her well at Kalinda and hope that our relationship will continue. Thank you Aya! Spring Fair Parents are continuing to make final preparations for the Spring Fair. The next job for each and every family is to sign up for an hour on your class roster. Holidays Sometimes it feels that the term has been long and then all of a sudden it is over. I think everyone is pleased to see the back of our very cold winter. We will return to daylight savings which always seems brighter. I wish you well for the break. Enjoy your families, have some fun and stay safe. See you next term.

STUDENT WELFARE

PARENT-CHILD SLEEP SESSION: Children that have a tendency to worry or difficulty self-regulating often have difficulties getting to sleep or staying asleep. Lack of quality sleep in chil-dren can effect their ability to learn and manage social situations. I am inviting parents to attend a session on bedtime calming strategies and routine setting with their child at school on Wednes-day 7th of October from 9am – 10.15am. Spaces will be limited and I need confirmation of your attendance by Friday 18th of September. I will be running the session and it will be very interac-tive for you and your child. This is of course a FREE session and part of my role in supporting student’s wellbeing. Please email me to confirm your attendance [email protected] Mia Sartori Student Welfare Officer

JAPANESE CULTURE CORNER

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN HOSTING A JAPANESE ASSISTANT? As you know this week we say sayonara to our wonderful assis-tant Aya Sensei and thank you again to her generous host fami-lies over the last six months- the Summerville family, the Perry family and the Coia family! Next term we will welcome Misako Sensei to Warranwood. Misako has been teaching Japanese in Geelong for the past six months and will be at Warranwood for 3 months. Thank you to the Penfold family for hosting her in October! We are still looking for host fami-lies for November and December so please think about this fan-tastic cultural exchange opportunity. If you would like more infor-mation see me. Tanya Barlow Japanese Teacher

SPRING FAIR ROSTERS This year we are very excited to announce that the 2015 Spring Fair stall rosters will now be online, saving you and your class reps time and resources! You can select each of your children’s stall links and following the prompts on screen fill in your choice of time selections! Rosters will be open online until Friday 9

th October, which will allow your class reps time to get the rosters sorted and print-

ed and up on your class window. As a thank you, when you finish your shift, sign the roster near your name and you will go in the Hamper Raffle to be drawn at assembly on Monday 19

th October.

It will be a fabulous day but please remember, we need your help - by sharing the load, everyone can enjoy the day. These are all the online roster links for our Spring Fair stall. Please navigate your way through the prompts (after clicking on your link) to select your times. Remember, first in, gets first time choice!

When you get to the signupgenius page for your child’s stall, you will see various time slots and numbers in brackets. This means we need, for example, 5 people from 10.00am – 11.30am. Please choose a slot, clicking the Sign Up box, and press Submit and Sign Up. From then, fill in your child’s name, and your own contact details. You’ll need to provide your name, email address, and mobile number. Then select “Sign Up Now” bottom left of screen. This will confirm that you have selected your time slot. You are still able to change this if needed. Your information will remain private. The details you enter will be used only by the school appointed delegates for the purposes of filling the roster and will not be passed on to any other companies. You will get a reminder from the system a day or two before the event – you can swap with other people on the same stall if you need to. You can view the roster to check your spot, you can also add it to your Facebook page as a reminder or calendar, etc. To continue on with booking a time slot for another of your children’s stalls, select the relevant roster for your child’s stall. If you have any trouble with the online rostering system, please contact your class reps, Jo Hales ([email protected]) or Brigid Campbell in the of-fice. If you do not have access to online rostering, please see your class rep and they will add your time requests to the roster.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
