Carolyn showed Quarter horses in western classes, thoroughbreds in the hunters, and dressage during high school and college. While becoming a nurse, Carolyn worked on several horse farms feeding, grooming, cleaning, riding and training. Carolyn quickly fell in love with the warmblood breed while working for one of the first American Warmblood Registry Holsteiner breeders (stallions Malthus and Figaro) in Tallahassee, FL "Oak Marsh Stud Farm" for the late Marlies Smith. Carolyn quickly discovered how powerful, elegant, and athletic warmbloods were, and she was hooked! Carolyn and Harry stand 6 year old AWR lifetime approved stallion Fuerst Grayheart R. Purchased as a weanling from Rainbow Equus Meadows, Grayheart’s sire is the legendary elite Hanoverian show jumper Fuerst Gotthard, and his dam is the elite Hanoverian show jumper, Santa Barbara (San Fernando). Grayheart is a stunning heavy boned and muscled grey stallion with a white blaze and three white socks. Standing 16.3+h, Grayheart offers smooth toplines, high neck sets, good legs, added suspension and extension to his offspring. He is a very good cross on finer boned mares. Grayheart is not homozygous for grey, he produces grey, chestnut, and bay! Grayheart’s stud fee is $900, which includes the booking, and the first collection and shipping. LFG! This May, Carolyn, husband Harry, son’s Matt and little year old Harrison, loaded up their bay AWR yearling colt Farscape RH (Fuerst Grayheart R / Poly Phagia xx) and two year old AWR filly Cartier RH (Fuerst Grayheart R / Euless xx) and headed 5 hours to the KDA Breeders Classic I and II in Lexington, KY! The weather was beautiful, still cool in the morning, sunny and breezy in the afternoons! Wednesday the judge was Melissa Creswick, handling for both days were Angela Hecker-Jackson and Christine Quilling. Cartier (gray filly above pictured with handler, Christine Quilling) came in 3rd place for 2 year old Fillies with comments of "strong type, free mover" and scores of 7.6 to 7.9. Isauro Flores of Olympic Show Jumping Stallions says they are very pleased with his first outing and look forward to his continued development in the show ring.

Crossroads is pleased to report that Sharon Gordon’s filly by Ironman, Imagination won her yearling class at the Milwaukee Spring Horse Show, and her 3 year old also by Ironman, Indelible, won hers. Pictured at left.
