SAFE DRIVING IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITYEmergency Vehicle Safety Indiana law requires motorists to use caution when approaching a stopped emergency vehicle that is displaying flashing lights. Motorists must change lanes away from the emergency vehicle if they can safely do so or slow down and proceed with caution. Violating the law can lead to a suspended license for up to two years plus a fine of up to $10,000.

Work Zone Safety Awareness Motorists have a responsibility to be alert, obey traffic laws and signs, and use common sense to safely navigate roadway work zones. Drivers who injure or kill a highway worker could face up to six years behind bars and up to a $10,000 fine.

Buzzed. Busted. Broke.Cops are arresting drug- and alcohol-impaired drivers. Drivers with a blood alcohol concentration of .08 or higher face an average of $10,000 in fines, lost work time and other costs.
