The Walton FlyerCivil Air Patrol : Walton County Composit e Squadron Auxiliary of the United States Air Force Monthly NewsletterVolume 2 Issue 3 March, 2008 Greetings to all, I want to start out by saying what a pleasure it is to be your Squad- ron Commander. We are what you would call a very healthy squad- ron. Our membership is growing, our members are progressing in their development and promotions. All of this is because each ofyou are willing to put forth effort and for that I want to say "Thank You". This "Thank You" goes also to the parents who get their cadet to the meetings on time and pick them up on time and when asked, you parents jump in and really help make things happen. As for events, we are coming into our busy season. We have o- flights in April, Rocketry in June, Wing Encampment and I have asked Chris Lewis to be the Project Officer for our annual squadron family picnic in July at Hard Labor Creek State Park. I'm sure you will all support S/M Lewis in this project. I must mention now that many cadets are behind in their annual squadron dues. We can't operate without dues. Our dues are $40.00 a year. As most of you know I try my best to provide at no cost things we need such as rank and ribbons with ribbon holders for cadets. Our phone with internet service is a monthly expense and we really need that service. If this is a hardship for anybody, just let me know. I am also open to any fund raising ideas you may have. To our adult members, you must be in a Specialty Track and com- plete your OPSEC training on line. These two things are a must ifyou want credit for SLS, CLC, or promotions. As for the Specialty Track, see me and we can get it done. It is really simple. That's it for this month, Respectfully, Darrell Golliher Lt. Col., CAP Commander Walton County Composite Squadron Orientation Flight Weekend April 19th & 20th 2008 New Cadets that have not completed their wing runner course need to do so to fly.
