John Sall Memorial Award Staff at Walt Morey Middle School is dedicated to celebrating excellence in our students across the many facets of their lives. Each year, we take the time to honor those students who meet our expectations and go beyond in academics, attendance, activity participation, and sports during the end of the year recognition ceremony. We also take the opportunity to recognize an individual who goes above and beyond in service to their community. From 1976 to 1991, John Sall gave his time, energy, and service to the Reynolds Community, personifying the idea that, “There are so many ways to help,” he served as a volunteer, wrote newsletters, chaired booster clubs, chaired budget committee meetings, and worked on the district volunteer committee. It is in his honor and spirit of community service that we give out the “John Sall Memorial Award” to an 8th grader at the end of the year recognition ceremony. We need your help. Students are often more involved in their community than we are aware. If you know that your student goes “above and beyond” in the Reynolds Schools or in our community, please let us know about it. Drop off a letter explaining your student's activities and volunteer service. Please also include any recommendations from community members who work with your son/daughter. Thank you for assisting us in honoring our students. Damian Reardon Walt Morey Principal

News from the Gym
With the start of the 4th quarter, Mr. Pierce and Mrs. Rispler’s classes are back together in the gym after each having their
students in the Health classroom for nine weeks. Please help your student be successful in PE by reminding them about their PE uniform
requirement. Every student must be dressed down wearing a gray shirt/sweatshirt, black short/sweatpants and tennis shoes everyday to earn their points. Daily points consist of dressing down in proper colors, being on time, actively participating and being responsible for their behavior and actions.
Congratulations to the following students for being selected PE Student of the Month by
Mr. Pierce for the month of March…Sarah Bonilla, Alissa Moyak, Brianna Roney, Nick Welter, Carson Christian, James Phommasack, Jet Ittihrit, Yuka Kobayashi, Sidor Budeanu, Sarah Ming, Cristina Lopez and Chris Matos.
The last quarter of PE hopefully will be spent outside giving the kids a chance to play LaCrosse, Softball and Kickball, Frisbee Golf and relays. Currently, the classes have begun our Rhythmic unit learning simple line dances and steps in preparation for them to be able to put together a short routine of their own to perform…..it should be fun!

Please, join! I would like to get more input from parents and have more conversations about our school and how we can best serve our students. In order to fill that need, I am going to start a PTA here at the high school. If you are interested in participating in the first organizational meeting or would like to help lead the efforts to form our RHS PTA, please call me at 503-‐667-‐3186.
