Walt Disney World® Green Meeting Guidelines

The Walt Disney Company has a long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship, reflected in how all meetings and group events held at the Walt Disney World® Resort are conducted. We focus efforts on reducing our environmental impact by minimizing waste, conserving water and energy, reducing carbon emissions, protecting ecosystems and inspiring others to do the same.

These efforts are achieved through a combination of standard business practices at all Disney meeting and event venues, additional program offerings appropriate for the type of event you are hosting, and supporting your organization’s own efforts.

Green-Meeting Facts & Business Practices•An“EnviroFootprint”certificatewillbeprovidedafteryourmeetingorevent,illustratinghowGreenMeetingsbusinesspracticesattheWalt Disney World®Resorthavehelpedreducethemeeting’scarbonfootprint.

•Weprovideavarietyofuniquewaterandbeverageserviceoptionsdesignedtoeliminateplasticsandotherdisposables,whiledeliveringhealthyanddynamicalternativestotraditionalbottledwater.

•Toeliminatewaste,wesetpadsandpensnexttothewaterstationinsteadofatthetablesunlessotherwiserequested.

•AllDisneyhotelmeetingandconventioncentersofferhighlyvisiblerecyclingbinsforplasticbottlesandaluminumcans.Cardboard,paperandsteelaresortedandrecycledbehindthescenes.

•Whenrefreshingameetingroom,theconventionservicesteamplacesanyrecyclablesintheappropriatecontainers.

•Weautomaticallydistributeanyprepared,unusedfoodthatmeetssafetystandardsto“TheDisneyHarvest”programfordonationtotheSecondHarvestFoodBankofCentralFlorida.

•UnusedfoodandorganicproductsaresenttoDisney’sonsitecompostfacilityforlandscapinguseasappropriate.

•All22Disney-ownedandoperatedhotelshavereceivedtheprestigiousFloridaGreenLodgingdesignationbytheFloridaDepartmentofEnvironmentalProtection.ThisdesignationrecognizesourdemonstratedcommitmenttotheprotectionofFlorida’sresourcesthroughadefinedsetofenvironmentalpracticesacrossfiveareasofconcern,includingwaterandenergyconservation,educationandawareness,wastereduction,andindoorairquality.
