'here #ay be a ti#e when the Waller County $$raisal District is confronted with an
unflatterin" article. Whether the district deser!es it or not< the ne"ati!ity reflects badly on
the a$$raisal districts i#a"e and could affect the attitudes of the ta7$ayers towards the
district.
WAT TO DO WEN A CRISIS OCCURS
One would ho$e that it all would die down. So#eti#es bad $ress isn8t uite as bad as one
#i"ht thin@. 'hen a"ain< if the district shoots off a re$ly it could end u$ #a@in" the
situation worse by addin" fuel to the fla#es. ee$ a cool head and follow $rocedures to
deal with the situation #ost effecti!ely.

2. 7$ress your re"ret concernin" the crisis. 'a7$ayers do not want to see the
a$$raisal district $ointin" fin"ers durin" a crisis. Be confident in that the district
understands what is at sta@e< a$olo"i;e< and ta@e action before bein" forced to do so
by le"al #eans.
+. 7$lain to the $ublic what your $lans are and let the ta7$ayers @now how you are
"oin" to rectify the da#a"e.
4. Plan a structure to disse#inate your #essa"e to the #edia. Send your #edia $ress
releases out all at once< and if the releases will be on"oin"< send the# out at the
sa#e ti#e e!ery day.
