Liz Frankel Book Launch

WOW! Thank you to all 25 students who applied to be one of the four students to attend Liz Frankel’s book launch this Friday. Thank you to all of the parents who were involved in writing an application letter with their kids. This showed your child that you value the application process and their ability to write. Going through the application process in life enables many communities to access government grants and is an essential part of life.

We had such a hard job choosing the best four entries that all staff were involved in the selection of the winning entries. We decided to award two senior winners and two junior winners. As a runner-up prize, all students that applied will have morning tea with Liz Frankel on the 1st of December, when Liz awards the Premier’s Reading Challenge medals at assembly. All students will also receive a certificate for their efforts.

Congratulations to Caitlyn Watkins and Aaliyah Loffler in the senior section and Ellie Bald and Grace Borgas in the junior section. Thank you also to the following students who will be awarded their merit and participation certificates at assembly next Monday:

Rain Moth Gallery

Student Art Exhibition The Rain Moth Gallery is currently hosting an exhibition of student’s art work. The theme “Learning Through Art” shows how art can be used and incorporated into all subject areas across the curriculum. Science, History, Maths, English, Health, Society and Environment along with Spanish are all areas of learning represented in the exhibition.

Four local schools, Waikerie, Ramco, Cadell and the Lutheran Primary School have all contributed to the exhibition which displays a wide range of styles and mediums. This year, for the first time ever, all artwork will be on sale for a minimal cost. Some art work are individual pieces but many are murals

created as a combined class effort. There are also examples of framed individual pieces on display to show how the student’s artwork may look once purchased. Parents and family are encouraged to visit the gallery early to make sure they don’t miss out on purchasing their own child’s artwork as all works will be available for sale to the general public as well.

The Primary Schools exhibition will be running during September and October while the High School Year 12 students will be featuring in November.
