Important Notice!!
Environmental Investigation and Mud Play Day on
Sunday, 29th October.
Waikerie Lutheran Primary School is a Christ-Centred community equipping each student for life. SCHOOL NEWS
From the Principal In the Sunday Mail, an announcement was made in
regards to Anthony Pratt (of Visy board fame) giving away
1 billion dollars in the coming years. Earlier this year,
Andrew ‘Twiggy’ Forrest gave away 400 million dollars to
charity. Twiggy said ‘the challenge is to give with our
hearts, minds and souls’.
I was talking to a friend and he said ‘yeah, but how much
have those blokes got to give?’ God wants grateful givers.
We should focus on what we give, and not on others.
That’s too much like sticking your head in someone else’s
business!

STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Teachers are encouraging the attitudes of appreciation, commitment, confidence, cooperation,
creativity, curiosity, empathy, enthusiasm, independence, integrity, respect and tolerance as a
tool kit for successfully relating with others. As a way of celebrating the demonstration of these
attitudes by students, staff have elected these students this week.
Year 6/7 Class (Mr Braun and Mrs Waterson)
Integrity - Kirk Cameron. I have been impressed with Kirk’s integrity within the classroom over the
past few weeks. It is pleasing to see him put in a good effort towards his learning, enabling him to
complete all set tasks to a good standard. Well done Kirk! Keep it up as we begin Exhibition!
Enthusiasm - Lachlan Ebert. I really enjoyed Lachlan’s enthusiasm during our whole class SSP lesson
on Thursday. He independently and confidently initiated a game of hangman. Great work Lachy!
Year 5 Class (Mrs Burns)
Cooperation - Brodie Baring. It has been pleasing to see Brodie continuing to develop his
cooperation skills and also encouraging others to develop their cooperation. Keep up the positive
work habits Brodie!
Enthusiasm - Byron Childs. It has been lovely to see Byron’s enthusiasm and care for his gardens at
school. I’m looking forward to some more of that fresh broccoli. Keep it up!
Year 3/4 Class (Mr Fladrich)
Enthusiasm - Megen Mihalopoulos. Megen took time to enthusiastically and independently
practise her lines for the Chapel skit away from school. Well done Megen!
Enthusiasm - Hugh Thomas. Hugh displayed great enthusiasm when he volunteered to be the
auctioneer for the “Great Broccoli Auction”. Great work Hugh!
Year 1/2 Class (Mrs Canney and Mrs Beelitz)
Creativity - Ava McKenzie-Hefford. Ava demonstrated her creativity and flair for design when
creating her snowflake for book week!
Curiosity - Addison Schmidt. Addison demonstrated her curious nature and ability to predict when
exploring texts for book week!
Foundation/Year 1 Class (Miss Corbett)
Enthusiasm - Reuben Honeyman. It is great to see you sharing your enthusiasm with others about
your learning and up-coming events. Your excitement is fantastic!
Empathy - Arlee Matthews. Your continual effort to care for others and recognize when they need
your help is really appreciated within the classroom. Well done Arlee!

WOOLWORTHS EARN AND LEARN
Being human not only means that, like spirit beings we have free will, it also means that we do, and
are able to change so cannot always be relied upon; no matter how well intentioned we may be;
God however is love and will not ever change, from eternity past to eternity future to today He can
always be relied on and always keeps His promises.
God bless you all.
