OVERVIEWMeadow View Nursing Center, a 150-bed, three-story continuing care retirement community, implemented the Novaerus portable NV200 and NV900 units in selected rooms and areas in July 2014. This study compares the total number of respiratory nosocomial infections before and after implementation of the Novaerus technology.
A 24-month review was conducted to evaluate the results.
METHODOLOGYA Nurse Risk Manager Consultant with RB Health Partners, Inc. visited the facility for two days to abstractinformation and review the data. The periods selected for aggregate pre- and post-review were August 2013through April 2014 and August 2014 through April 2015. Comparison of like periods reduces the risk ofskewed data related to seasonal variances.
