Materials: Cascade Yarns® Tangier 50% Silk / 16% Cotton/17% Rayon /17% Acrylic 100 g (3.5 oz) / 220 yds (200 m) 2 (2, 2, 2, 3, 3) skeins of color #07 (Tapestry) US 8 (5 mm)/ 32”circular knitting needle or size needed to obtain gauge Yarn needle Gauge: 14 sts = 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch

Abbreviations: BO = Bind Off CO = Cast On K = Knit K2tog = Knit 2 stitches together KFB = Knit into the front and back of a stitch P = Purl P2tog = Purl 2 stitches together PFB = Purl into the front and back of a stitch RS = Right Side SSK = Slip 1 stitch as if to knit, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, Knit the 2 slipped stitches together St(s) = Stitch(es) Tbl = Through the back loop WS = Wrong Side

Pattern Stitches: Rib Stitch: Row 1 (WS): *[P2, K2]; repeat from * until 2 sts remain, P2. Row 2 (RS): *[K2, P2]; repeat from * until 2 sts remain, K2. Note: The shrug is worked side to side, in 1 piece from left sleeve to right sleeve. The bottom and center border are worked by picking up sts once the main piece is complete. CO to begin the pattern using the long tail method. Use the Cable CO to add sts within the pattern. Use SSK to decrease at the beginning of RS rows, and P2tog at the beginning of WS rows. Use K2tog to decrease at the end of RS rows, and P2tog tbl to decrease at the end of WS rows.

Pattern: CO 46 (50, 54, 58, 62, 66) sts. Work in Rib Stitch for 1”, then in Stockinette st for 1”. CO 2 sts at the beginning of the next 4 rows. CO 4 (4, 4, 4, 3, 3) sts at the beginning of the next 4 rows. CO 6 (6, 5, 5, 5, 5) sti at the beginning of next 4 rows. CO 9 (8, 8, 7, 7, 7) at the beginning of the next 2 rows. 112 (114, 114, 116, 116, 120) sts.

Work even for 4.5” (4.75, 5, 5.5, 6, 6.75)”. Next Row (WS): BO 56 (57, 57, 58, 58, 60] st, P2tog, work to the end of the row. Next Row: K until 2 sts remain, K2tog. Work even for 5.75” (6.25, 6.75, 7.75, 8.75, 10.25)”. Next Row (WS): PFB in the 1st st, P to end of row. Next Row: K until 1 st remains, KFB. CO 56 (57, 57, 58, 58, 60) for right front. 112 (114, 114, 116, 116, 120) sts.

Finishing: Sew side seams. Beginning on left front bottom edge, pick up 102 (106, 110, 118, 126, 134) sts. Work in Rib stitch for 1”, decreasing 1 st at the beginning and end of each RS row. BO in pattern.

Beginning on the left front center edge (start on the just completed Ribbing) pick up 146 (150, 154, 158, 162, 166) sts along left center front, neck, and right center front. Work in Rib pattern for 5 rows, decreasing 1 st at the beginning and at the end of each row. BO 2 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows. BO in pattern. Weave in all ends and block if necessary.
