WISDOM FROM THE CATECHISM: A READING

Since our knowledge of God is limited, our language about him is equally so. We can name God only by taking creatures as our starting point, and in accordance with our limited human ways of knowing and thinking. (CCC #40)

There is another very special image of God that we have not talked about yet…

GOD MADE US EACH IN GOD’S OWN IMAGE. EACH OF US IS LIKE GOD IN MANY WAYS.

Talk over with your parent how we are like God?

HOW WE ARE LIKE GOD

•We are persons; God is three persons. •We can love; the Bible teaches us that God is love. •We can think; knowledge and understanding are gifts of the Holy Spirit.

HOW WE ARE LIKE GOD

•We are free to choose; God always chooses to do good things. •We are connected to others; God the Father, Son, and Spirit are connected to each other in perfect love.

If you saw one of your friends putting her arms around her little sister to comfort her when she was crying, how might you say she is imaging God? (Talk it over with your parents)
