Problem Based Learning (PBL) is an important facet

to the 21st century T&L activity which simulates

complex real-world problems to be solved. Through

PBL, students are exposed to active learning

approach which is student centered and fosters

positive attitude towards critical and analytical

thinking.

In line with this, UniKL Centre of Excellence for PBL

(COE-PBL) is established in UniKL BMI to provide

expertise in PBL activities for TVET programmes.

THE COE-PBL is equipped with state-of-the-art

equipment to facilitate students to develop and

enhance their problem-solving skills.

COE-PBL can accommodate 50 participants at any

one time and is therefore conducive for students to

carry out group-based activities since each group has

access to audio/visual devices.

UniKL BMI’s PBL coordinator, Dr. Mohd Fahmi

Hussin mentions that COE-PBL initiative is a

stepping stone for UniKL BMI in bridging the gap

between industry and academia. He added that such

active learning approach can be further improvised

to Project Based Learning and even cater for

Integrated Design Projects that can be applied to

multi-disciplinary problems.
