Tanva manages VTT Nippon’s Bangkok office. He advised and assisted clients on corporate and commercial matters including, foreign investment planning, corporate structuring, joint venture formations, commercial contracts and dispute resolution. Tanva has led corporate legal due diligence reviews in the context of merger and acquisitions. Prior to co-founding V-Ventis, Tanva was a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers’ world trade management practice in Thailand. He advised clients on Thai regulatory compliance issues including customs valuation, product classification, regulated and controlled substances, trade privileges, board of investment promotions, excise tax, board of investment privileges, and FTA product rules of origins. His practices include trade privilege structuring, customs compliance, indirect tax structuring, and regulated industry compliance.

Atsushi Shibata manages VTT Nippon’s Tokyo office. Shibata specializes in corporate income tax, international tax, transfer pricing, customs and trade advisories. He is also a certified customs specialist and logistics specialist in Japan. Shibata previously worked at Arthur Anderson and KPMG as a consultant in corporate tax. He also served on the Asia Pacific Team to the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD) in Amsterdam. Shibata is also a lead partner at Shibata-Ueda International Tax Firm in Tokyo and an external advisor to KPMG Japan. He has advised clients on cross border tax and trade planning between Japan, China and ASEAN countries.

Masaaki Chida manages the VTT Nippon’s Osaka office. Chida is experienced in advising clients on corporate income tax, cross border tax and trade structuring, and ASEAN investment. He has served as a CFO and treasurer to a publicly listed Japanese company’s US subsidiary in the machinery industry. Chida administered and managed corporate finances, currency derivatives, investment and loan financing, oversaw the planning of international and Japanese corporate tax, transfer pricing analysis and contemporaneous documentation, and installation of internal controls (J-SOX). He was also a member on the board of directors to publicly listed company in the fashion apparel industry in Japan, where he oversaw and managed inventory and supply chain controls. Chida has managed projects for the establishment and set-up of overseas subsidiaries in the United States.

KhunIttiwat serves as the firm’s adjunct customs advisor. Prior to his retirement from the Customs Department, KhunIttiwat was the director of the BadangBasar Customs House (Thai – Malaysian overland border). Before attaining the rank of director, he held various positions including that of a section chief litigation officer in the Customs Legal Affairs Bureau and chief of the suppression section at the Maptaphut Customs House.

With nearly forty years of service in the Customs Department, KhunIttiwat is highly experienced in matters involving customs law and procedures. He also has an extensive network of colleagues within the Customs Department. KhunIttiwat presently serves as an adjunct advisor for selected cases involving customs disputes, customs law and regulations.

She was also a former associate director and general counsel for AIG Investment Corporation (Asia), where she counselled on capital investment into Thailand.
