5. PCB PARTS LISTNOTES:•The mark found on some component parts indicates the importance of the safety factor of the part.
Therefore, when replacing, be sure to use parts of identical designation.•When ordering resistors, first convert resistance values into code form as shown in the following examples.
Ex.1 When there are 2 effective digits (any digit apart from 0), such as 560 ohm and 47k ohm (tolerance is shown by J=5%, and K=10%).
560 Ω → 56 × 101 → 561 ........................................................ RD1/4PU 5 6 1 J47k Ω → 47 × 103 → 473 ........................................................ RD1/4PU 4 7 3 J0.5 Ω → R50 ..................................................................................... RN2H R 5 0 K1 Ω → 1R0 ..................................................................................... RS1P 1 R 0 K
Ex.2 When there are 3 effective digits (such as in high precision metal film resistors).5.62k Ω → 562 × 101 → 5621 ...................................................... RN1/4PC 5 6 2 1 F

6.1 IDLE CURRENT ADJUSTMENT
6. ADJUSTMENT
• CAUTION : Heatsink's DC level is equal to +B or -B.Don't touch them or you will be electricary shocked.
1. Decrease the level of the Adjustment Variable resistors (VR) for the channel to be adjusted. ( Turn counterclockwise.)2. Set the power switch to ON.3. Connect the DC voltmeter as shown below and adjust VRs in step No. order so that voltages become 16mV .4. Ages for seven minutes.5. Readjust in step No. order so that the voltages become 11.5mV ± 1mV (10.5 to 12.5mV). Adjustment is completed.

7.3.2.4 PCB PARTS LISTNOTES:•The mark found on some component parts indicates the importance of the safety factor of the part.

STANDARD – Use for pure decoding of multi channelsources, especially Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic, DTSsources. Each press toggles between STANDARD andSTANDARD 7.1 mode (for use with SURROUND BACKspeakers) and STANDARD auto (the receiver choosesthe appropriate STANDARD mode). Those with surroundback speakers can use all three STANDARD modes, those without can only use the STANDARD mode.
3 MULTI CH INPUTUse to hook up an external component that can decodeother types of signals and input them into the VSX-39TX.
4 TONE control buttons
TONE buttonThis button has two functions. Firstly, it switchesbetween TONE ON and TONE BYPASS, which bypassesthe tone circuitry. Secondly, you need to press thebutton before using the CHANNEL SELECT buttons toadjust the BASS & TREBLE (cannot be used in THX orMULTI CH IN modes).
CHANNEL SELECT buttonSwitches the tone adjust controls between the FRONT,CENTER, SURROUND and SURROUND BACK speak-ers. You can then use the BASS and TREBLE controls toadjust the sound.
BASS (–/+) buttonUse to adjust low frequencies.
TREBLE (–/+) buttonUse to adjust the high frequencies.
5 LOUDNESS buttonSwitches the LOUDNESS mode on or off (cannot beused in THX or MULTI CH IN modes).
1 STANDBY/ON buttonPress to switch the receiver ON or intoSTANDBY mode.
STANDBY indicatorLights when the receiver is in STANDBY mode. (Pleasenote that this receiver consumes a small amount ofpower [1.0 W] in the standby mode.)
2 DSP MODE buttonPress repeatedly to select a DSP sound mode. (HALL 1,HALL 2, JAZZ, DANCE, THEATER 1, or THEATER 2, 5/7CH STEREO). Use these modes to produce surroundsound from standard (two channel) stereo sources andcreate different listening environments.
STEREO/DIRECT buttonSwitches the receiver into STEREO mode if it was in adifferent sound mode (like DSP mode) or togglesbetween DIRECT and STEREO mode. For more onSTEREO mode .
DIRECT playback bypasses the tone controls, DIGITALNR, LOUDNESS, MIDNIGHT and channel level for themost accurate reproduction of a program source.
/ DTS buttonsTHX CINEMA – Cycles through the THX CINEMA, THXSURROUND EX or THX AUTO sound modes. If youhave THX-certified speaker setup or want to re-create aTHX-style sound environment. It is also appropriate forDolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic, DTS sources. Those withsurround back speakers can use all three THX modes, those without can only use the THX CINEMA mode.
ADVANCED – Use to select one of the four AdvancedTheater modes. Use to create certain types of soundenvironments when listening to Dolby Digital, Dolby ProLogic, DTS sources.
