17.TheVRaylicenseserviceallowsyoutocheckitsstatusfromanywhereinthenetworkusingaregularwebbrowser.Forexample,ifyouwanttocheckthecurrentstatusofthelicenseservicethatyoujuststarted,openyourweb

browser,andintheaddressfieldtypehttp://localhost:30304andpressEnter.Youshouldgetapagelikebelow;

choosetheGetstatusoftheserveroptiontoseemoreinformation.

Reprogrammingadongle

When

you

purchase

the

V

Ray

renderer,

your

dongle

will

need

to

be

reprogrammed

with

the

corresponding

number

licenses.Reprogrammingthedongleisatwopartprocess:

A.Inthefirstpart,youneedtosendusaspecialfile,createdthroughtheVRayLicenseServer,whichcontains

informationidentifyingyourspecificdongle.

B.ChaosSoftwarewillsendyouanotherfile,whichincludesthenewcontentsofyourdongle.Thisistransferredonto

thedonglebytheWIBUKEYdrivers.Afterthedongleisreprogrammed,youcancheckifthenewlicenses/productshave

beenaddedsuccessfully.Herearethesestepsinmoredetails.

Creatingadongleremoteprogrammingcontextfile(.wbc)Inordertoreprogramadongle,youfirstneedtocreateafilewhichidentifiesyourspecificdongle1. Openawebbrowserandintheaddressbarenter"http://someserver:30304/upgrade"where"someserver"isthe

nameorIPaddressofthemachinewheretheVRaylicensingserviceisrunning(orlocalhostifyouareonthat

machine).Thiswillopenthefollowingwebpage:

1. Whenyoureceivethe.rtufile,saveitontheDesktopofthemachinewherethedongleisplugged.2. ClosetheVRaylicensingservice,ifitisrunning.YoucandothiseitherbyrightclickingtheVRaylicenseservice

iconintheTaskBarandselectingExit,orifitisrunningasaservice fromtheControlpanel>Administrativetools>

Servicesapplet.

3. Doubleclickthesaved.rtufile.Thedonglesoftwarewillaskyouwhetheryoureallywanttotransferthefiletothedongle.ClickYestoupdateyourdongle.

4. Ifthecontentsofthefileissuccessfullytransferred,youwillgetaconfirmationdialogsimilartotheonebelow;clickOKtoclosethedialog.
