KI CONVENTION CENTER

The IABTI International In Service Exposition is simply the best. We bring together the latest in technology, services, training, and SMEs for the explosives community, all under one roof. Our Exhibitors

exemplify what the IABTI stands for. By fostering the exchange of explosive related information and solutions, this is the technology expo you can’t afford to miss. You owe it to your safety, and that of your squad, to check out the latest comprehensive collaboration of technology and equipment. The personal interaction afforded by this Exposition is irreplaceable and cannot be replaced by electronic means. The opportunity for research and development for your department is paramount and unrivaled.

Wednesday, June 14, there will be a four-hour refresher/training class for those who are interested in sitting for the CIPBI exam. The CIPBI exam will be given Wednesday, June 14th in the afternoon for those who have applied and been accepted.

CIPBI requirements are available at: www.iabti.org/certification. Applicants must apply and submit proper documentation to support their experience, training and education for approval to participate and test. Only applications received by April 30th will be considered for this June 14 test date. Upon successful completion of the CIPBI exam, the CIPBI designation will be presented.

• Forty hours of in-service training; presentations and case studies in lecture style format.

• Access to the Exhibit Hall and more than 80 booths offering equipment, training, and tools for those in the greater explosives community.

WHAT IS INCLUDED:

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND:

In a world where we’re bombarded with email, it’s disproportionately effective to connect with people face to face. Attending a relevant training event (and accompanying expo) can be one of the best ways to accelerate this process, since you can meet multiple people in just a few days.Attendance at this In-Service and Expo not only affords you access to top experts and those with expertise in the explosive and investigative communities, but also allows you to build these outside relationships. Time and time again, it’s proven that sharing your real life experience and knowledge instills confidence, thereby motivating you to improve yourself and better serve your agency.

Even if you’re the Commander of a fairly large squad and it’s likely that you’ll never wear the bomb suit or process a scene again, you should take advantage of these in-service hours. Be the first one to suggest attendance, the one to submit for approval; sit in the front row, or encourage your team to do so. When officers see the boss going to or getting excited about in-service training, they are more likely to do the same. Not all in service training is tactical in nature. You owe it to yourself and your career. If your department won’t send you, negotiate: if you pay for the class, will they give you the training days? It IS worth your time.
