NSS Special Residential Camp Report 2016-17:-

Matheran Valley School, Neral, 1st December 2016:-

As per the schedule, all the volunteers reached Mulund Railway Station at 6:30am. After the

headcount they boarded for Karjat fast train at 7:26am from Mulund. They reached the campsite at

9:30am. All the volunteers assembled in assembly room. Five groups were made, each group

consisting of 10 volunteers including one group leader. Five committee works such as Kitchen,

Utensils and Water filling, Washroom Cleaning, Room Cleaning and Reception was allotted among

the groups. Volunteers started their committee work after the assembly. First day’s lunch was

brought by volunteers itself. After the lunch there was an assembly conducted by core committee

members on 7 days planning and development of the adopted village, Devpada. After the assembly

there was a tea break at 4:30pm. At 5:00pm, volunteers went Devpada village to perform street

play. Street play was performed by Reception Committee volunteers on the topic “Andhshraddha

Nirmolan”. An introductory session was conducted by our Programme Officer Prof. Mangesh

Sawant on “NSS and how it functions?” at 07:00pm and ended at 09:00pm. Our dinner was served

at 09:30pm. At 10:00pm an assembly was conducted on next day planning and lights were off at

10:30pm.

Matheran Valley School, Neral, 2nd December 2016:-

According to our planned schedule, volunteers woke up at 05:00am. At 05:15am they were

ready at assembly hall. They exercised and did yoga till 7:00am. They came back to the site and

started their committee work. Breakfast was served at 08:00am. After breakfast they went for

shramdaan (field work) at devpada village at 09:00am. Volunteers did “Swacchh Bharat Abhiyaan”

i.e. cleaned the road of village and the garbage collected was dumped in a pit of 2 feet which was

dig by our volunteers. They returned to the camp site at 01:00pm. Lunch was served at 01:30pm.

After lunch they started their committee work and then had tea break at 04:00pm.they departed

for Devpada village to perform street play at 05:00pm on the topic “ChildLabour”. Till 07:00pm they

returned to the camp site. After 30 minutes break a session was conducted by Mr. Ramesh Rane

and Mrs.RupaliRane on “WomenEmpowerment”. They shared their experiences in life and taught

us a lesson that how to tackle any situation in life. Their session ended at 09:00pm. Dinner was

served at 09:30pm. After dinner there was an assembly on next day planning at 10:00pm. Lights

were off at 10:30pm.

Matheran Valley School, Neral, 3rd December 2016:-

As per the planned schedule, volunteers woke up at 05:00am. At 05:15am they were ready

at assembly hall. They exercised and did yoga till 07:00am. They came back to the site and started

their committee work. Their breakfast was served at 08:00am. After breakfast they went for

Shramdaan (field work) at Devpada village at 09:00am. They repaired a road of length 4.5kms

connecting Devpada and Koshind. They returned to the campsite at 01:30pm. Lunch was served at

02:00pm. After lunch all the volunteers completed their respective committee work. There was a

session on “Sarpmitra” conducted by Shri.Vaibhav Patwardhan at 03:00pm. The session continued

till 05:00pm. After the session volunteers had tea break. At 05:30pmvolunteers departed for

Devpada village to perform street play on the topic “SwacchBharat”. They came back at site till

07:30pm. A session was conducted by Shri.Suyog Deshmukh on “Akashdarshan” i.e. Astronomy at

from 08:00pm to 09:00pm. Dinner was served at 09:30pm. After dinner, there was an assembly on

next day planning at 10:00pm. Volunteers went to sleep at 10:30pm.

Matheran Valley School, Neral, 4th December 2016:-

As per the schedule volunteers woke up at 05:00am and went for jog at 05:15am

accompanied by exercise and yoga session. They returned to the camp site at 07:00am and started

their respective committee work. Breakfast was served at 08:00am. After their breakfast they

departed to Devpada village for Shramdaan (field work) at 09:00am. They continued the road

construction workand completed the road of 1.5kms joining Devpada village and Koshind. They

returned to the camp site at 01:00pm. Lunch was served at 01:30pm. After lunch volunteers started

their committee work. At 04:00pm they had tea break. After the tea break they went to devpada

village at 05:00pm and performed street play on the topic “WomenEmpowerment”. After

performing street play they returned back to the site at 07:00pm. There was a session on “Yoga and

Its Importance” by Prof. Ms.GauriMone at 07:30pm. The session ended at 09:00pm. Dinner was

served at 09:30pm. After dinner there was an assembly on next day planning at 10:00pm and lights

were off till 10:30pm.

As per the schedule all the volunteers woke up at 05.00am. At 5.15am they assembled in

the assembly hall and went for a jog followed by an exercise and yoga session. They returned the

camp site at 7.00am. After returning to our camp site they started their respective committee work.

Breakfast was served at 8.00am. They departed for Devpada village for Shramdaan (field work) at

9.00 hours. We built a Bandhara (small dam) on a river joining Devpada village and Patli of 5 feet

height and 20 feet breadth. We returned to our camp site at 03.00pm. Lunch was served at

03.30pm. After the lunch there was a session on “Andhashraddha” by Shri.RajendraKoli at

04.00pm. The session ended at 05:30pm. After the session there was a tea break at 06.00pm. At

07.00pm there was a session on “National Integrity” by Shri.Shramik Kharat. The session ended at

09.00pm. Dinner was served at 09.30pm. After dinner there was an assembly on next day planning

at 10.00pm. After the assembly the lights were off at 10.30pm.

As per the schedule all the volunteers woke up at05.00pm and assembled at the assembly

hall at 05.15am. They went for a jog followed by an exercise and a yoga session. They returned to

the camp site at 07.00am. After returning to the camp site they started with their respective

committee work. After the completion of their committee work they had their breakfast at

08.00pm. After the breakfast they departed for Devpada village at 09.00pm for Shramdaan (field

work). They constructed a road joining Devpada village and VagachiWadi of 2.5 km. Lunch for the

volunteers was served by the villagers at DevpadaGramsthanPrathmikShalla. They returned to the

camp site at 05.00pm. After returning they had a tea break at 05.30pm. After the tea break they

had a session on “Disaster Management” by Shri.Jagdish Rajane at 06.00pm. The session ended at

20.00 hours. Dinner was served at 09.30pm. After the dinner we had a camp fire till 11.00pm. After

the camp fire lights were off at 11.30pm.

As per the schedule all the volunteers woke up at 05.00am and assembled at the assembly

hall at 05.15am. They went for a jog followed by an exercise and a yoga session. They returned to

our camp site at 07.00am. Breakfast was served at 09.30am. After the breakfast we departed to

Devpada village. At Devpada Gramsthan PrathmikShaala volunteers held some competitions of

essay writing, memory test and quiz competitions. Prizes were given to the winners. Books were

donated by the volunteers to the primary school students. After the books donation street play was

performed by volunteers on “Corruption”. We returned to the camp site at 01.30pm. After

returning we had our lunch at 02.00pm and completed their respective committee work. They

departed from the camp site at 05.00pm by bus arranged by our Programme Officers.
