bringinglighttovariousissuesrevolvingaroundinjustice.Neitheramellowexcursionintoworldmusicorthefranticwar-cryofSystemthatsomehadpredicted,ElectTheDeadismulti-facetedandmulti-layered,containingelementsofpsychedelia,classical,andthetrademarksurrealistimagesandskewedtimesignaturesthatTankianhasmadehisown.Twoyearsafteritsinitialrelease,hebeganworkingwithNewZealandcomposerJohnPsathastorearrangeandorchestrateElectTheDeadforafullsymphonyorchestra.ThiswasfollowedbyaninauguralElectTheDeadSymphonyconcertinAucklandwiththeAucklandPhilharmoniaOrchestrathatwasrecordedandfilmedandreleasedthefollowingyear,debutingatnumber4ontheClassicalMusicchartshereintheUSA.
