THANK YOU! To all of our Volunteers Perk up Pinckneyville, sponsored by the Gwinnett Parks Founda-tion, Gwinnett Great Days of Service and Hands on Atlanta, was an overwhelming success. Volunteers donated over 100 hours of ser-vice to the Pinckneyville Community Recreation Center and com-pleted the renovation of a raised garden and game room mural. Plants, paint, mulch and planning needs were donated and used by children, teens, adults and seniors alike working together. Perk up Pinckneyville was a true testimonial of what the residents of Gwin-nett can and will do to improve our recreation facilities.
Gwinnett United in Drug Education volunteers and HOOKED, worked diligently on a mural signifying the importance of volunteer-ing and giving back to “YOUR” community. The game room plays host to this mural and is a constant reminder of how GREAT the citizens of Gwinnett are.
The raised garden area was improved with drought resistant plants, bulbs, mulch and other accent plants that require little maintenance. The garden area can now be used for small outdoor events or a respite for park patrons.
Volunteers and donations totaled approximately $5000 in value for this Saturday project. Thanks to all who participated and donated to the event, without you we couldn't do what we do!
