Community CoordinatingCouncil met on Monday, Octo-ber 8, 2012 to honor Hector"Eli" Kistermann with the pres-tigious Tim Crowther YouthRecognition Award.
Eli is a very involved GlendoraHigh School student and BoyScout. In Scouting he hashelped with many EagleProjects including but not lim-ited to painting fire hydrants,painting and cleaning the GNLLsnack bar, and making a benchand sign for the Colby Trail.
For Glendora Youth Soccerhe is a volunteer referee andtrains new referees, a volunteerboard member and is in chargeof all the setting up and tearingdown of all fields for all 9 divi-sions.
He has participated for 3years in the "Special Needs Car-nival" volunteered to help cleanRubel Castle, helped serve andperform for the homeless shel-ter at St. Dorothy's'

Renee has been involved withLa Fetra PTA for 16 years.since her first child began kin-dergarten. Her sixth child is nowin 4th grade so she still has 2more years to serve. Renee hasbeen on the board of GoddardPTA and is on her third year atGHS. She has served in manycapacities, includingfundraising, hospitality, bookfair, Little League Board andsoccer coach.
In addition, Renee has servedin her Church in various posi-tions. She has spent many yearsworking with the youth ages12--18. At this time she is theGlendora Stake Young Womenpresidency. She works withover 100 young women plan-ning camps.
But that is not all. Renee hasgiven the gift of life to her hus-band Steve. Steve has been ondialysis for a few years andneeded a transplant. When asuitable donor could not be

Casper had beena Presbyterian Minister, serv-ing in Tucson Arizona and evena Missionary serving in Africaduring his tenure. Our Glendora Rotary techni-cians were trained at the Uni-versity of Houston School ofOptometry and began going intoMexico in 2002 to fit the chil-dren of Tijuana for glasseswhere they would help up to150 children per day. When
going into Mexico became toodangerous our Glendora Rotarybegan serving the Seniors of theGlendora area. Most Seniorswill walk out of the La FetraCenter, after their appointment,with free glasses in hand.There is absolutely no cost forthe exam or the glasses.
We typically help up totwelve seniors per day on thethird Saturday of each monthbetween the hours of 10 A.M.
and 1 P.M. by partnering withthe La Fetra Senior Center at333 E. Foothill Boulevard inGlendora. We will be dark dur-ing the months of Novemberand December and will resumeappointments on the third Sat-urday in January.
