  • 5Mothers Day MessagesHappy Mothers day

to our Superwoman! We appreciate all you did and continue to do for us. The unconditional love you give us each and everyday. All while being a wife, a mother, daughter, sister, cousin... You accomplished your goals a few years ago and added college graduate to your list of titles. We are very blessed to have you as a mother and grandmother.

Love, Isela, Jesse, Selena and Elisa!

Mothers Day; a day we go out and buy flowers, cards, candy, or even expensive gifts. Mothers Day is specified to remember what our mothers, the women in our lives that do so much for us... Its to remember that a woman, in every way, needs to be respected and appreciated. Id love to take the time to appreciate my mother, but not only today... Everyday... I want to thank her for giving me life, giving me the pep talks when I needed them, for trying to get me to understand things when I was too stubborn to hear what she had to say. Most importantly, Id like to thank her for being a wonderful, loving grandmother. Although she lives miles away, the drive and commute, to

I am sending this message as a form of a prayer. I am not as fortunate as others who have been blessed with their mothers presence to this day. My madre is is Heaven now and I know she is waiting for us patiently... Enjoying her lost time with my sister who had passed away prior to my parents.

Thank you, Mami, for being a classy lady. You withstood many things from losing our sister to losing your voice. the strength to smile through the paralysis caused by your stroke inspires me to keep smiling through my ordeals for my children. Thank you so much!

You learned the upholstery business from the office to the sewing machine.

While you let Dad play the boss; we all knew that with a simple smile, good

cooked meal, and well spoken suggestion, you were La Jefa. Or as Dad would say La Ley.

Love you, Mami! Siempre estaras en mi corazon.

    Lucy.

her, is always worth it... Happy Mothers Day to my mother, Anna...

With love, Im happy to be your daughter.

    Rosie Padilla, tu chiquita.

  • Fair Park SparksStory and Photos by Lucy Bocanegra Dallas, Texas- May 8, 2015

The Fair Park where each fall the State Fair of Texas takes place opened its doors and invited out families to a free outdoor family event. The reason that Fair Park is doing these types of events is to promote the

events, vendors and facilities of the park. Customer relations spoke person Marianna Castro says, There is so many different things to see through out the year, not just during the state fair season.

Park officials invited all the vendors to come out and showcase the product, services and events that will be part of the Fair Parks calender of events throughout the year. Vendors, food trucks, craft beer &

wine, artist gallery, childrens zip line and face painting along with dancing fountain showers.

The entertainment was tops! Sister Hazel took the stage once the rain stopped. Though it was sprinkling, a crowd began to form as people began to the event that was scheduled early. Start time was at 3 pm to 10:PM so, many people with children arrived after school hours.

The rain did not stop a crowd from forming as the final act was announced. Vanilla Ice opened his set with one of his classic songs, then went on to give the much entertained crowd a little history lesson. :I was born

here...not too far from this stage just over there... pointing toward the Grand Street entrance of Fair Park. He tells the crowd he was born at Baylor and goes on to say, On Halloween, yes thats right on Halloween! Then he

introduces one of his latest singles called, Born on Halloween The crowd went wild as the music started and smoke machines filled the stage and the Halloween themed stage props added to the effects of a spectacular show.

After the final performance of Vanilla Ice, the crowd was treated to a spectacular firework ending. Centennial Row is between the Centennial Building

and the Automobile Building. The fireworks just shot out from the roof tops of those two creating some very nice picture taking moments with the nice

buildings in the background. If you want to know more about
