Shibu P.P., Associate Director in Physical Education, has Masters Degree in Physical Education (MPES), M.Phil from Annamalai University, Chidamparam, and PhD from Karpagam University, Coimbatore. The tile of his thesis is “Effect of varied regimen ofspecific exercise programme on selected physiological and biochemical variables in type 2 diabetic patients.” He has an experience of 15 years in teaching. He was working with various school and colleges in and around the state. His area of interest is in volleyball and shuttle badminton. He is a qualified volleyball official. He is a well known sports organizer too.

TRAINING CAMPS

Our department conducted team coaching camps for various sports and

games in view of KTU inter collegiate competitions during the year 2019-2020.

ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET The 15th Annual Athletic Meet for the year 2019-2020 was a grand success. With each passing year the level of competition becomes more intense and stronger, and as regards the standard of the Sports Meet. The Chief Guest Sri.Pradeep N.P, Former Indian Football Player arrived at 9.00 am and the meet commenced with the welcome. It was followed by the custom-ary opening prayer by our S1 students. The meet began with the opening march past. It was led by Aryans House followed by Mughals House who were in turn followed by Rajputs House followed by Spartans House and last Vikings House. Days of practice for the march past had brought us to perfection. The solemn oath taking ceremony led by Sports secretary Mr. Fred-erick Thomson, followed by the lighting of the Torch by the five sports person set the tone for the competition. The Chief Guest declared the Meet open Track events starts with the 800m and 400m races for men and women respectively. The students cheering for their house-mates. The individual championships bagged by Mr. Garry Kurian of Mughals and Merin Sabu of Vi-kings.The Overall Champions and Runners Up are Mugals & Aryans. The prize distributions were held by Rev. Fr. Joyal George Pullolil CMI. The Meet finally closed with the singing of the National Anthem.

▶ Dr. Shibu P.P nominated as a member of protest committee in D Zone inter colle-giate tournaments 2019-2020.

▶ Sinu Jacob selected as the team manager of KTU chess (women) team, which the team participated in the south zone inter university chess championship held at Acharya Nagarjuna university,Gundur-Andra Pradesh in November 2019.
