■ On at least two occasions these sketches of mine have helped Cupid along in his conniving work. I’ll tell of the more important one.

I sketched a soldier at the Stage Door Canteen in Washington during the war and he sent the sketch to his girl friend. That picture made her decide to say “yes”.

He was a good looking boy, but had been eating food that caused his skin to break out with pimples and blemishes. Because of that she was undecided, but when she saw how he looked in my sketch without the skin irritations, she decided to become his mate.

Some years later, they paid me a visit in the store I worked and gave me a standing invitation to be their guest at the bar they ju3t bought near Washington. Drinks would be “on the house” any time I came.

Unfortunately, I lost the name and address.

Just Not FairEDITOR, TIMES:

For the past few weeks I’ve been leading all fixe letters against the rockj •conceits coming to Ocean Grove. It’s just not fair that these p-.ople ate

. -puttnig down the conceits before there’s even been one. How ,do they know that the ones coming to Ocean Grove will turn out as bad as they predict

Most all the\people writing, against the concerts have probaMy never been to one but are mating judgement based only on what they hear. They are being much too narrow-minded.

I ask, why not wait until the first •concert then speak your mind, .Or. why

\ don’t some of the people condemning the concerts, go to one, themself then [

• 'they could be able to pass: judgementf ; •correctly on what 'they see and not just what they hear.

Sincerely,.ADRIENNE DeFABRITIS
