Interstate Packages, Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia –

CPS/Enterprise 2009 New Installation Pasir Gudang is an industrial town located east of Johor Baru in Malaysia. It is situated at the western end of the metropolitan area of Johor Baru. The main industries are transportation and logistics, shipbuilding, petrochemicals and other heavy industries, and oil palm storage and distribution. It is the site of one of two power stations in the state of Johor- the Sultan Iskandar Power Station. The Johor Port is located at Pasir Gudang. It is the first port in Johor and is designed as a multi-purpose port that caters to practically all type of cargo. It is the first port in Malaysia to be located within a free trade zone. Since its inception in 1977, this proud establishment has played a significant role in the growth of Malaysia’s international trade. Nested within the busy transport hub at the tip of Peninsular Malaysia, the Johor Port operates in an exciting, progressive environment for businesses from across the world.

Interstate Packages is one of Malaysia’s leading manufacturers of corrugated cartons in the south of Peninsular Malaysia. Interstate’s wide range of packaging products is used extensively by various large manufacturing companies such as those in the Electrical and Electronics sector. Interstate Packages is an important player in providing corrugated packaging solutions to the country’s export oriented economy. In 2005, as part of Interstate Packages’ continuing expansion plan, it has successfully formed strategic alliances with Stone Truepenny International Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Smurfit Stone Container Corporation. By 2006, their first joint-venture plant named Interstate Smurfit-Stone (Thailand) was set up in Thailand.

Smurfit Stone Container Corporation is a major player in the global packaging industry and is listed on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange with a market capitalization of approximately USD 2.9 billion as of 6 April 2007. In order for the company to stay at the forefront of the market, it decided to consolidate its previously disparate IT infrastructure. Working closely with HP and Prestige Atlantic, the company will deploy the HP Business Critical Integrity Server and CPS/Enterprise 2009 to achieve the performance, stability and scalability it was looking for. The project commenced in June 2009 and is targeted to complete by June 2010.

Program integrating to Mitsubishi Sigma 2000

PT Oriental Asahi JP Carton Box is a joint venture between Japan Pulp and Paper, and Asahi Shiko KK; both companies from Japan. Japan Pulp and Paper is listed in Tokyo Stock Exchange First Section employing over 1,000 employees worldwide. Its major activities are importing, exporting, sales and distribution of paper, paper board, pulp, paper related productions, plastics, and paper-related machinery. PT Oriental Asahi JP Carton Box (OAJ) is one of the first and modern corrugated packaging companies in Jakarta, Indonesia. In order for OAJ to stay at the forefront of the market, OAJ has shown keen interest in CPS/Enterprise to integrate all departmental operations especially from Sales Order to Work Order to Corrugating Schedule to Mitsubishi Sigma Production Management System (called MHI Sigma 2000). Prestige Atlantic has been working with a team from Mitsubishi Japan for some months since April 2009 and has successfully developed a beta test program.

KS Secondary Fibre Supplier Sdn Bhd is one the largest waste paper collection company in Malaysia operating with 10 collection centers nationwide. KS Secondary is currently substantiating its position in the industry by diversifying into other related waste management such as plastic, metal recovery as well as general waste recovery and disposal.
