the answer:As each buyer situation and circumstance is unique, using more than one agent is not illegal per se (factors may include residential vs. commer-cial properties or varying regional areas); however, if a Buyer has signed a Buyer’s Agency Agreement, the Buyer may be liable for breach of the agency agreement when working with more than one agent. If so, the terms agreed to in the agency agreement are more than likely to control. As far as ethical repercussions, that is a matter a Buyer must reflect and internalize. Open communication and being above board is obviously always the best route. Creating an honest and positive line of communication with your agent will help to further clarify your needs and goals as the agent is working for you!
