In addition to the col- lection of these supplies, we would love to make a significant monetary contribution to their great work. Checks can be made payable to the TN Children’s Home. They will be here to pickup all items on Thursday, Oct. 11 th , so please get these to the church office this week. New Sunday morning series to start… “Weathering Life’s Storms” Every family experiences difficult moments. It’s a fact of life. If you or your family haven’t been through a difficult moment, maybe even what you might call a “storm of life” then brace yourself. It may be coming. Family members get sick. Jobs are outsourced. Children present challenges. These things come… and they come to every family. We often do not have a choice as to which storm will come. What we DO have a choice in is how we will “weather” them when they come. Will we surrender and allow the storm to overtake us? Or will we seek shelter in the care and provision of God? If we turn to God in these moments, what does that look like? How can we trust Him when we don’t see the sun? These are some of the thoughts we’ll be exploring together over the next few weeks as we look to better equip our families to face these storms with the trusting faith that God would have us face them with! Join us and bring someone with you. -Jim

Thank you… what’s next?

Last Friday Scott Saunders from Healing Hands In-ternational arrived at Washington Street and loaded the over 260 Magi boxes on their truck for shipment to the children of Honduras. These boxes were col-lected over the last few weeks from students at River-side Christian Academy and from families right here at Washington Street. What a great outpouring of love and service from our young people and what a great opportunity to spread the love of Jesus to those who so desperately need it! Every year over 20,000 boxes are placed into the hands of excited children and blesses their entire family. Thank you to all who participated!

What’s next? As mentioned last week, we are currently turning our sights to children a bit closer to home and have an opportunity to bless the children of the Tennessee Children’s Home through the course of their “Fall Food & Supply Drive.” A list of items needed is on the bulletin board at the church building and last week’s VOICE. In addition to the col-lection of these supplies, we would love to make a significant monetary contribution to their great work. Checks can be made payable to the TN Children’s Home. They will be here to pickup all items on Thursday, Oct. 11th, so please get these to the church office this week.

New Sunday morning series to start… “Weathering Life’s Storms”

Every family experiences difficult moments. If we turn to

God in these moments, what does that look like? How can we trust Him when we don’t see the sun? These are some of the thoughts we’ll be exploring together over the next few weeks as we look to better equip our families to face these storms with the trusting faith that God would have us face them with! Join us and bring someone with you.

Youth News Hey Everybody! Be vigilant as Parents. We are here to protect our kids and help

them mature in the Lord, love them well. There will be Coffee House tonight. Coffee House will be at our house this week!

HS Girls’ devo will resume Tuesday at Anna Catherine’s home and HS Boys’ Devo will be at 7 pm on Thursday. HS Boys’ devo will be at my house this week!

We are moving the SAC this week to the 14th and the next one will be the 28th. Rake N’ Run will be on November the 3rd this year with a rainout date of the 18th.

We are looking for yards to rake, and volunteers to help lead groups of students. We also need supplies like tarps, rakes, leaf blowers, mowers, gas, and any other handy tools. If you are in-terested in any of these things, please contact Donna or myself and we will sign you up.

The updated calendars are online and are available in a paper version by the Youth Bulletin Board.
