Monmouth County Chamber of Commerce “Perkolater” Breakfast MeetingDecember 2, 2016 COL (R) Samuel Fuoco attended the Monmouth County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) "Perkolater" Breakfast at AUSA Monmouth Chapter Corporate Member All Seasons Diner in Eatontown, NJ. COL (R) Fuoco presented brief Chapter Mission overview and invitation to attend Gingerbread Ball on Saturday, December 3, 2016 to Benefit the Fisher House Foundation.

AUSA, AOC, AFCEA, AND AAAA HOSTS OF GINGERBREAD BALLDecember 3, 2016 The Association of the United States Army Monmouth Chapter, Association of Old Crows Garden State Chapter, Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, and Army Aviation Association of America, Mid-Atlantic Chapter hosted the Gingerbread Ball held at the AUSA Monmouth Corporate Member Sheraton Eatontown Hotel, 6 Industrial Way East, Eatontown, NJ 07724 to Benefit Fisher House Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)3 Not For Profit Organization.

A Fisher House is a "Home Away From Home" for families of Military and Veterans receiving medical care at major Military and VA Medical centers of Excellence. These Fisher Houses are located within walking distances of the Medical Centers or have transportation available. There are 71 Fisher Houses located in the United States, Germany and United Kingdom. The Fisher House Foundation, Inc., has served over 277, 000 families since 1990 with over $320M in lodging costs and $7M days of lodging.

The Gingerbread Ball Evening Agenda was enjoyed by 155 guests led by the outstanding and dedicated efforts of AUSA Monmouth Chapter VP, Programs and Gingerbread Ball Chair Kit Roache which included Gingerbread House Competition and Auction, Cocktail Hour with music by Al Aloisi, The Piano Man, Silent Auction, Formal Program, Dinner, DJ Davide Fuoco, Dancing, and Photo Booth. Our Guest Speaker was Brian Gawne, Vice President of Community Relations, Fisher House Foundation, Inc. Special Guests included Miss New Jersey 2016, Brenna Weick and Ms Taylor Tote who sang the Star Spangled Banner.

Long Branch Rotary Club LuncheonDecember 2, 2016 AUSA Monmouth Chapter VP, Programs Kit Roache and President COL (R) Samuel Fuoco attended the Long Branch Rotary Club Luncheon Meeting held at Rooney’s Crab House, Long Branch, NJ. Kit provided brief AUSA Monmouth Chapter History, upcoming Gingerbread Ball to Benefit Fisher House Foundation description and our 2017 Chapter Service Dogs Initiative for Wounded Soldiers.

Patriots Pride Awards and Recognition CeremonyDecember 7, 2016 COL (R) Samuel Fuoco, President AUSA Monmouth Chapter, VP, Programs Kit Roache, Secretary Ellie Smith and Board Member Charles Seal attended the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office Patriots Pride Awards and Recognition Ceremony held at Monmouth County Police Academy, 2000 Kozloski Road, Freehold, NJ 07726. Keynote Speaker was Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno. Ceremony included Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Statement of Support Affirmation, Presentation of NJ Department of Military and Veterans Affairs Military Awards from BG Michael Cunniff, NJ The Adjutant General, ESGR Awards and Monmouth County Sheriff's Office Certificates of Appreciation to police officers who served in the National Guard and Reserves, and Unveiling of the "Wall of Heroes". COL (R) Fuoco briefed AUSA Monmouth Chapter Mission Voice of the Army-Support For the Soldier and invited Freeholder Curley who readily accepted as Guest Speaker to the AUSA Monmouth Chapter sponsored Army 242nd Birthday Celebration/Awards Banquet on June 14, 2017 held at Ocean Place Resort & Spa, Long Branch, NJ. NJ Shore Financial PlannersDecember 14, 2016AUSA Monmouth Chapter VP, Programs, Kit Roache and Secretary, Ellie Smith attended the New Jersey Shore Financial Planners Holiday Party held at Firebirds Restaurant in Eatontown, NJ. Kit and Ellie briefed our AUSA Monmouth Chapter Mission to Rotary Club of Asbury Park member Sean Gowney, Wells Fargo. Purpose was to secure a donation from the Rotary Club of Asbury Park fundraising activities to benefit the AUSA Monmouth Chapter’s philanthropy efforts.

The Wreaths Across America CeremonyDecember 14, 2016 Pictured right L-R are Jack Chlapowski and Jan Moren, AUSA Monmouth Chapter Board Members who attended The Wreaths Across America Ceremony at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial Foundation in Holmdel, NJ. Each Year, Wreaths Across America embarks on six-day journey to remember and honor military members. Beginning in Harrington, ME, a parade oftrucks travels down the East Coast on a mission to lay remembrance wreaths at grave sites of Veterans at Arlington National Cemetery, VA and other Veterans Cemeteries alongthe way. Remembrance wreaths were presented to Gold Star Families, and seven ceremonial wreaths were laid for each branch of the military and POW/MIA veterans.

SJVHS Corporate Member Support December 15, 2016 AUSA Monmouth Chapter Corporate Member Saint John Vianney HS, Holmdel, NJ Student Athletes "Served those who Served" at New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home-Menlo Park in Edison, NJ. The Varsity Girls Field Hockey Team assisted the NJVMH-MP staff in their planned activities for the day included: Coffee Hour, Bowling, Exercise Club and helped pack over 300+ Holiday gift bags for Elderly & Disabled Veterans Residents. This Field Trip was moderated by COL (R) Samuel Fuoco, SJVHS Assistant Athletic Director Pat Smith and Field Hockey Coaches Gabrielle Burgo & Christy Boyd.

Monmouth County Chamber of Commerce "Perkolator" Breakfast MeetingDecember 16, 2016AUSA Monmouth Chapter President, COL (R) Samuel Fuoco, VP Programs, Kit Roache and Secretary, Ellie Smith attended the Monmouth County Chamber of Commerce "Perkolator" Breakfast Meeting at AUSA Monmouth Chapter Corporate Member All Seasons Diner in Eatontown, NJ. Kit was guest speaker and reviewed the AUSA Monmouth Chapter history, membership incentives and our philanthropy efforts to benefit Fisher House, Veterans and active duty, Family Readiness Groups and upcoming 2017 Service Dog Initiative for Wounded Soldiers. AUSA Monmouth Chapter member, Debbie Downey pledged a donation from business organization she is a member. Also, Brian Dragatto, Merrill Lynch, expressed an interest to join our AUSA Monmouth Chapter and assist the Service Dog Initiative. He was invited to attend next Board Meeting on January 10, 2017.

99th Regional Support Command Yellow Ribbon Program | December 17, 2016 COL (R) Samuel Fuoco attended the 99th Regional Support Command Yellow Ribbon Program held at Hershey Lodge in Hershey, PA for 451 Deployed/ Re-Deployed US Army Reserve Soldiers/Family Members. COL (R) Fuoco provided AUSA Monmouth Chapter Display/Information Table on Saturday, December 17; and two (2) workshops of Veterans Employment: Challenges and Rewards on Sunday, December 18, 2016. Pictured top right is BG Jose R. Burgos, Deputy Commanding General, 99th Regional Support Command; and bottom right is Family Member with COL (R) Fuoco. 15 New AUSA Membership Applications were received. Plans are to attend next Yellow Ribbon Program on February 24-26, 2017 at Hershey Lodge, Hershey, PA.
