Lesson – 09 What’s on TV?

“I prefer ......” kalıbı fiille beraber

kullanıldığında gelen fiil –ing eki

almalıdır. Tercih edilen şey “pre-

fer” kelimesinden hemen sonra,

diğeri ise “to” dan sonra gelir.

Örneğin;

I prefer watching TV.

I prefer soap operas to

cartoons.

My favourite TV programme is “Kim Milyoner Olmak İster?”.

It is a quiz show. I prefer quiz shows to cartoons.

Look at the speech balloon above. When we talk about things we love most we

use “My favourite ...............” phrase. (Yukarıdaki konuşma balonunu inceleyiniz.

Bir kategoride en sevdiğimiz şeylerden bahsederken “My favourite ...............”

şeklindeki kalıbı kullanırız.)

But if we talk about preferences between two things, we can use “I prefer ....”

(Ama iki şey arasında tercih belirtiyorsak “I prefer ....” kalıbını kullanabiliriz.)
