Hello. This is the guide to the basic visual elements that make up the Spellodrome brand. Have a read, it will help you know us better

02 Logo on Illustration backgrounds

Wherever possible, our logo likes to sit in a real world context, through the use of placement in illustration backgrounds. These backgrounds help the logo feel part of its environment rather than an outsider at the party.

A series of approved illustration background are available – featured later in this guide. In situations of darker or contrasting colours, the version with white glow should be used.

01 Logo on white or mostly white background

Our logo is a bright and strong visual and wherever possible should be allowed to shine in it’s own right. When the use of photographic backgrounds is not applicable, it is not to be placed on strong dominant block colours. Our logo is green and its favourite colour is white. Respect its wishes.

2

Our logo is a very valuable asset. We must treat it nicely. Never abuse our logo, it

doesn’t have arms and it can’t fight back (our CMO and our lawyers however, are

another story).

06 Red alert!

Do not sit the logo on strong or overpowering colours.

03 Not cool

Don’t place the logo on top of any characters.

01 Space around the logo

Always leave some room for the logo to breathe. Don’t crowd it.

07 No Slants

Our logo likes to sit flat. It does not slant and it does not rotate.

04 Our logo is not radioactive

No shines, no gloss, no glow. Avoid backgrounds in a similar shade of blue.

02 Placing in context

Where possible place the logo within arelevant illustration background context.

08 No crash diets

Be sure to resize the logo in proportion (hold down SHIFT when dragging to resize).

05 No shadow puppets

Our logo is flat and strictly 2D. Like a cloudy day, it has no shadows.

You wouldn’t wear one blue and one purple sock. Take a moment to think about how you apply the Spellodrome logo.We are not a rules and regulations kind of company, nonetheless here are some examples of what we think is OK, and what should be punishable by a red-hot poker to the buttocks.

Our typeface. The Genius type family is our default Spellodrome font. It represents a well structured, yet playfully youthful brand. Just like Spellodrome. Use one of the three approved Genius fonts wherever possible.

02 Genius - Regular

This is a slightly meatier version of Genius, with a slightly thicker character size. This is the perfect font to be used for both headlines and body text in coloured area.Do use ‘bold’ for this font in non coloured area.

03 Genius - Medium

This is the thickest of all three Genius versions. It is not to be used in headlines or at large font sizes, as at these sizes will cross the line between “simple” into “childish”. At smaller font sizes it is great for sections of body text that need emphasis. Do use ‘bold’ for this font in a coloured area.

01 Genius - Light

This is the simplest – and finest – of all members of the Genius family. It should be used in instances where larger font sizes are applicable – such as our short branding headlines (for example the wording “our typeface” on this page), and should be the main font used in day-to-day production.

03 Spellodrome highlight text – green & red brown

Dark green colour for highlight text and red brown colour for tag lines or special sentence.

04 Spellodrome number box & secondary main colour

05 Spellodrome quotation mark

For quotation mark use light orange colour with black text.

Our colours are what we are. They give us our personality. We are bold, colourful and confident. They and bright and they are clear, without becoming “Primary School

Wallchart.” Look after our colours.

The Teacher Console

The Classes tool allows teachers to easily manage the classes and groups of students they are responsible for, as well as move students between classes. It is also possible to split a class into up to 6 groups, each assigned their own word lists for even greater differentiation.

For a more detailed look at the Classes tool, see page 4 of this guide.

Word Lists are programs of work and the core of your students’ journey through Spellodrome. Once created, a word list forms the basis of the content your students will encounter. A huge range of curriculum-aligned Word Lists are readily available within Spellodrome, or you can use the simple tools available to create your own.

For a more detailed look at the Word Lists tool, see page 5 of this guide.

Spellodrome contains literally thousands of words, with more being added all the time. However, if you come across a specific word that is not available to include in your Word Lists, just ask! The Request a Word area allows you to submit a word to the Spellodrome team. We are adding words all the time, with the library growing and growing. You ask, we listen.

Reports is the main dashboard for a host of automated student results data. From individual student summary reports (great for parent/teacher meetings) to weekly summaries of classroom performance, improvements and certificates, Reports is a one-stop-shop putting key data at your fingertips.

For a more detailed look at the Reports tool, see page 6 of this guide.

The Assessments tool is a great resource through which you can assign standard benchmarking tests to your students. Once students have completed the tests, Assessments will provide useful diagnostic and analytic information. Used at regular intervals, Assessments is a key resource for tracking student improvement.
