Vista Manager
Introduction
Vista Manager gives you access to view and monitor your AMF and Wireless networks
from a web browser.
AMF Management
The AMF network catalog displays a graphical view of your AMF networks. You can have
a maximum of 10 networks. This high level display shows the network name, IP address
of the Controller, IP address of the Master and the number of Areas for each network.
Selecting a specified network takes you to the Topology Map Summary where you can
see the logical topology of your network structures and nodes displaying Controller,
Master and Member devices. From this level the node list and details can be displayed
showing Basic Information, Detailed Information, System Environment and Log.
AMF operations that can be performed on the nodes from Vista Manager include:
Managing Accounts
Registering a new AMF Network
Graphical display of AMF networks
Display of status information of the AMF network and AT-TQ series
Accessing the command line for a working set of AMF nodes
Notification of automatic recovery
Equipment search

Wireless Management
If you have the Allied Telesis Wireless Manager or UWC (Unified Wireless Controller)
installed in your network, you can use the Wireless Deployment Catalog and upload
floor maps of the physical location of your TQ access points. You can then view each
Floor Map Summary and see radio signal strength configurations and channels. You can
view the wireless network detail from the summary level. The information displays profile
ID and name, IP address, MAC address, AP location, hardware model name, software
version and AP profile application status. This information can be sorted, searched and
filtered by tags that have been created.
Event Management
Events that have occurred in the AMF network and Wireless Manager are accessed from
the Event Log Summary. This feature has to be enabled to give you access to display all
event information. This event and status information is useful for troubleshooting health
issues on your AMF and Wireless networks.
You can also use the fast search feature to locate and display the status of specified
devices. You can tag specific devices with a label and then filter by label to modify your
views.
Audience for this guide
This guide is intended for computer system administrators and network engineers.
Expertise in the field of AMF and Wireless Management networks and configuration is
highly recommended.
This guide describes how to install and operate Vista Manager for AMF and Wireless
networks. Planning an AMF network is beyond the scope of this installation guide. For
further documentation of AMF configuration, including examples and command
references, please see the links provided in the “Related documents” section below.

Install the PuTTY software
To use Vista Manager to create working sets of AMF nodes and manage them via the
command line, you need to install the PuTTY SSH client application and set up some file
directories. PuTTY is an SSH and telnet client for the Windows platform. To do this:
1. Copy the following directory from the server to the top level of each client:
%Vista Manager Install Directory%\tools\ssh_client (the server directory)
to: (for example)
C:\tools\ssh_client (the client directory)
2. Download the SSH client PuTTY to the client directory from:
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html
3. Save the putty.exe file to the ssh_client directory:
to: (for example)
C:\tools\ssh_client\putty\putty.exe
4. Run the following .reg file with Administrator permission in the client directory:
ssh_client\putty\putty_register.bat

5. Check your routing:
Ping from the client PC to the ATMF Master/Controller IP address configured in VistaManager.
If the ping fails, configure the routing between these two devices to establishconnectivity.
