I am so pleased to tell you about several new things that God has poured into our church life this month! First, we are transitioning our computer equipment. While none of us are real excited about the change; it is time. We found out this week that our computers will no longer be compatible to Google Chrome, which is where we store our entire church calendar, email, and various items of great importance! Second, we are very near to our ground-breaking for our new building, which is monumental for this congregation! I believe members of this church have been working for many years on plans to build, and now it is really about to happen! Third, I have a larger excitement to share with you as the board voted unanimously yesterday to vote in our new Youth & Children’s Minister, Brett Hartman. Brett grew up in Ft. Scott, where he served in his home church until he was called to attend Ozark Christian College. While attending OCC, he served in various roles and churches including Carterville Christian Church, Norton Christian Church, and he also served as a Behavioral Health Technician for Preferred Family Healthcare, working with troubled teens! Brett has energy and loves to fish, hunt, and share Jesus with people anywhere he is! On that note, he and I have much in common! Brett will graduate in May with his Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry with a Major in Youth and Counseling. Christian Visitor Volume 69 ~ Issue 7 February 16, 2016 The Board has accepted him part time until May, and he will be full time June 1 st . Brett has a very loyal heart and cares deeply about our students and their spiritual walk with God! He will be a good fit at FCC, and I am pleased to have him as the Youth Minister who will help guide even my own children here at FCC. He also has a real passion for South East Kansas where he was raised and where God gave him his calling into ministry. Brett will be at church Sunday where he will join our church and start to become part of the family! Please take a minute to greet him this Sunday and make sure he has a warm FCC welcome! UPDATING CHURCH OFFICE INFORMATION AND DIRECTORY ROSTER FOR 2016 In an effort to better serve you and minister to you, we are in the process of updating our contact information of our FFC families. We would greatly appreciate updated information on you and your family and are asking every family to fill out a yellow information sheet located inside last Sunday’s Bulletin. If you need one please come by the office or pick one up in the overflow room. Our goal is to have current information on all our FCC families and then print out a current roster for our FCC families. Please place it in the offering tray Sunday or return it to the church office by February 28. Please note if you have a current picture of you / family you can email it to Marsha Dulin at [email protected], text to 785.448.4367 or bring it in and we will scan it into our files. These pictures will also be incorporated in the new roster. These pictures are so useful to new families to the church for getting to know who everyone is.

Continued from front page… Clearly God is doing great things around this place!! I hope you will all take a few minutes to praise Him for the excitement and blessings he is allowing us to be part of right now! I also ask that, as Satan is not so pleased by this growth, if you are getting beat up by the Devil, you would allow a few elders to pray with you. James 5:14 “Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up.” While this verse is primarily talking about the sick being made well, the Devil has a tendency to use whatever he can to bring down the plans of the Lord as well as try to make our souls feel downtrodden! It is our wish as Family, united by Jesus' blood, to do life with you through your difficult situations as well as the good! I have noticed many of our newer converts getting pushed around by the attacks of the evil one! Please be in deep, thorough prayer regarding these things that God is doing at the moment. Please understand that if you are feeling pushed around, we are only a call away! Blessings, Chris

ROOTS NON-PERISABLE FOOD DRIVE It’s not too late…We will continue to collect any non-perishable goods for our local ECKAN food pantry thru Wednesday, March 9. Our Roots Kids program is diligently working on “growing in their servant hood” this quarter. Donation boxes are located in the sanctuary by the stage or drop them off during the week to the church office.
