UVENILE DELINQUENT:
Blameworthy child, blameworthy minor, culpable youth, derelict adolescent, derelict
inexperienced person, derelict junior, immature youngster, misbehaving teenager, miscreant,
misguided teen, misguided young person, neglectful fledgling, offending immature person, viola
under age, young wrongdoer
UVENILE DELINQUENCY:
It refers to the antisocial or criminal activity of the child below 18 years of age and wh
violates the law. In true context, that same activity would have been a crime if it was commit
by the adult. Such activities are definitely tried in juvenile court and is sentenced a bit
differently that of an adult.
EPORT:
On 18th May 2011, I visited Youthful Offender’s Industrial home. There were 202 Juve
Offenders and the capacity was of 350 Juvenile offenders. There were 6 barracks and there
were 35 Juveniles per barrack. There were only 24 Juvenile convicted and rests were under t
The school timings for the Juvenile are from 8:30 to 12:30, 1:00 to 2:30 are the timings for
Lunch and prayers. From 2:30 to 5:00 are the timings for Madarsah, the religious education,
from 5:00 to 6:00 are the playing timings for the Juveniles. There were Four different Train
Rooms for the juveniles in which Juvenile could get the skillful training or education. There wa
stitching Training room, a Electrical Training room, An Art Training room and a computer Lab.

Most of the Juvenile were in the school when I, along with my class mates visited Youthful Offende
ndustrial Home. 5 Juveniles were stiching Kameez Shalwar in the Stitching Training room, 8 Juveni
ere taking class in Electrical Training room, 3 Juveniles were doing art work in Art Training room a
Juveniles were taking training of installation of windows in Computer Lab. I observed the Juvenile
ere neat and clean clothed. The Juveniles in school were learning their lessons. I met 3 Indian
shermen who were detained due to illegal Territory entrance. I also met 10 Afghanis who detained
ue to illegal border crossing. I met Muhammad Amir, 16 years old, a convicted Juvenile delinquent,
as detained due to Kidnapping for ransom of a kid of 5years, the ransom amount was only rupees
8,000/= He has been sentenced for 25years.
took interview of 22 Juvenile Offenders out of which 13 were detained due to illegal border cross
for Kidnapping for ransom, 2 for murder, 3 for drug selling and 3 for unauthorized weapons. The a
f the Juvenile offenders were from 14 to 17 years old. 3 were from India, 10 from Afghanistan and
rom Pakistan. 12 were having fine relationships with their parents and 10 were not having good
elationships with their parents. Rest of the information is in the table attached.
