a mirror of sanctity,

culture, spirituality and

Guarded by the fearless Oceans

that surround her, and by the

timeless Mountains in the

North

had lovinglygiven her,

her colours

Page 3: Vision of a better india

But, After five decades of freedom

We still remain, Hindus and Muslims;

Madrasi’s and Marathi’s and Bihari’s;

Dalits and Brahmins …….

In the great land of India,

there being no true Indian

Page 4: Vision of a better india

That is perceived to be one of the more corrupt

Nations.

India ranks 85 among 180 countries in

Transparency International’s Corruption

Perception Index, down from 72 last year

China ranks above India at 72 rank

A NATION

Where greasing the palm is not

an exception, but the rule

In the words of Prof C K Prahalad:

Human Development is not More Resources but less

Corruption in Deployment of Resources

Good Governance ( less corruption) leads to High

Levels of GDP/Capita; not the other way around

Focus on Human Development (Focus on Individuals)

and not Groups’ Rights leads to Rapid Economic

Development (GDP/Capita)

Page 13: Vision of a better india

Individually

We are up against a“system” that is naturallyaverse to change,

for maintenance of statusquo ensures :

equitable distribution ofbribe,

thriving of vote banks, continuity of personalfiefdoms,

reign of the corruption

Page 14: Vision of a better india

Corruption forces one to be Corrupt

• While the dishonest buys the system,

• The honest becomes the odd man out

and

• Gets paid in the same coin, gets the common whipping, being considered as a part of the system, which is perceived to be dishonest

Page 15: Vision of a better india

Preconceived Mindsets like….

“Everybody evades tax”

Discourages the honest to pay higher tax……

Leading to more leakage……

Multiple division of entity…etc….

Creating a vicious circle

System loaded against one who tries to be honest

Page 16: Vision of a better india

The Genesis lies inThe sense of depravity of justice and lack of transparency intransactions

We refuse to nip a problem in the bud, allowing it to

escalate

Judiciary is gasping under

the combined pressures

of anachronistic laws &

Inefficient execution

which leads to infinite

delays – both procedural

and practical

Page 17: Vision of a better india

Justice Delayed

Cases pending in Courts:

Supreme Court – 48,800

High Court – 38,82,000

Lower Courts – 2,52,40,000

Justice Delayed is

Justice Denied

Page 18: Vision of a better india

• Creates alienation and

hatred

• Erodes faith in the

system

• Forces otherwise

honest people to be

corrupt

Which in turn

Injustice Breeds Corruption

Page 19: Vision of a better india

Why me ? we all askAs it is easier to shrug,

pay the price

and move on,

than be the victim of “the system”

Page 20: Vision of a better india

But is this the India

Our fore fathers dreamt of?

That we want to leave for our children?

Does man live by bread alone?

Page 21: Vision of a better india

Shall WE ?

• Continue to simmer in the cold confines of our

respective homes and offices?

• Chant the national mantra, "chalta hai" and look the

other way?

• Lend credence and help perpetuate the same system

that we know is the root cause of all ills?

• Remain mute spectators as the motherland is vitiated

repeatedly?

Page 22: Vision of a better india

Is there no hope then?

Page 23: Vision of a better india

Imbibe Integrity

Educate the next generation

There is

The hope is in the future

Page 24: Vision of a better india

The HOPE is inThe power of “ONE”

Page 25: Vision of a better india

In Integrity of MissionWhat you set out to do …

Do not Divide the Nation :(Let Merit alone be the criterion.

Let us all be “proud” Indians!)

Inclusive Growth needs to include

All INDIANS

Create Equal OpportunitiesAs against

Exploiting Poverty …….To……

Craft Divide

Page 26: Vision of a better india

Only moral integrity

Can make India secure from inside

And strong enough to face threats from outside

Page 27: Vision of a better india

The hope is in

The Future – The Youth

Page 28: Vision of a better india

A Million Mind Workers

Who are today raising their collective voice around

the world

AND

Are being heard

Page 29: Vision of a better india

Young, impressionable minds

That can take up the cause

IF

We today start the onerous task of

planting the seeds

Page 30: Vision of a better india

Unleash The Power of Youth

YOU(TH) can make the Difference

Page 31: Vision of a better india

Let us

First set the example

And then

Take the fight to the campuses to the temples of learning

So that a deep aversion can be created against all forms of

corruption

Page 32: Vision of a better india

Empower the

To Break the Shackles of

CorruptionUproot the seeds of

DistrustAnd forge

Unity, Harmony Peace & Brotherhood

Page 33: Vision of a better india

Time has come…

To raise our voice in unison

To speak in one voice so that we can be heard

over the din.

The rest would then start falling in place…….

Page 34: Vision of a better india

What can I DO?

• Honour and Support those that Raise their Voice

• Avoid Short Term Gains for Long Term Goals

• Do not Buy my way out

• And most important Raise a Voice to weed out corruption
