VISION AND MISSION To unlock and maximise human
potential in developing countries We dedicate all our projects to
changing the destiny of children.
Primarily orphans and children
growing up in slums who are
under-privileged and often in dire need of education, basic medical
care, food and clothing. To break
this on going cycle of poverty we
have found that the only way that
we can guarantee the children a better future, is through providing a
solid education for both children
and parents

CURRENT AND FUTURE PROJECTS
Scholarship Program - This program has placed 6 Bangladeshi children in Dubai
schools over the past 5 months. Sheikh Nahyan has sponsored the children’s visas so that they can live and study in the UAE. Maria now has the great task ahead to get their school
fees sponsored for the next 4 - 6 years.
Recruitment Institute - This program focuses on providing an education for children
and their parents in order to successfully enter the employment market. The cycle of poverty can only be broken if parents have enough income. We are dedicated to creating
the 1st JOB CENTER for slum dwellers in the world. The mission is to bring together job seekers and businesses to guarantee long term employment.
School to School Projects - Further details regarding this project will be available
in 2012
OUTLINE The expedition is compiled of long days, arduous conditions and difficult
terrain. The North Pole Last Degree Expedition is an adventure in every sense of the word. Traveling across the dynamic polar pack ice requires patience and agility, not to mention a flexible attitude to deal with the many diversions that pop up over the course of each day. From open water "leads" to huge pressure ridges of ice, there are many obstacles on this expedition that make reaching the North Pole all the more satisfying.
THE 14 DAY EXPEDITION Day 1: Meet & Greet Longyearbyen, Norway
Day 2: Final equipment review & ski in Spitsbergen
Day 3: Fly to 89 degrees North Latitude, strap on skis & head North!
Day 4 - 12: Ski North towards the North Pole! Camp in the vicinity of the North Pole & Polar celebration & photo opportunity.
Day 13: Helicopter back to 89degrees, board plane to Longyearbyen for hot showers and celebratory dinner.
Day 14: Breakfast & transport to airport. Flights home.
REASON BEHIND THE EXPEDITION The North Pole Expedition is the first in a trilogy of exciting fundraising expeditions to support the Maria Christina Foundation. The funds from this first expedition will be used to secure the six children from Bangladesh’s education for their remaining six years of studying in the United Arab Emirates. It is the foundations aim to not only help these children with their education but in the process, help them to help themselves for their futures, and that of their families. Helping to break the poverty cycle.
IN CONCLUSION This expedition is for the children to meet their education requirements in the UAE. All
monies raised go towards assistance with clothing, feeding and educating them.
8 gifted children from a Dhaka slum are enrolled at the Taaleem School, Uptown High, Dubai. Our Children vary in age from 12 to 15 years and each have 4 to 6 years of schooling to complete.
Each child lives with a host family who covers their living expenses and scholarship funding needs to be raised for their school fees. For 2011 Taaleem have kindly assisted with 50% scholarships. We need to not only raise the remaining 50% but need to allow funds for their remaining years of education in the UAE.
These children are their families future. Help us help them!
