There were smiles all round as a cheerful bunch of Year 6s joined our live Transition Assembly. They then had the chance to meet their new teachers and take part in online well-being, English and Maths challenges. There was certainly enough there to keep them going throughout the summer so they can arrive in September well prepared for the next steps in their learning journey at Compass School. A warm welcome awaits them! It's now the time of year when we reflect on all the fantastic achievements of our pupil body and prepare to celebrate these through our annual prize-giving ceremony. This year we have a great range of awards. These include prizes for each subject, year group, exemplification of Compass values, and the Principal's Award. I am pleased to have received sponsorship for the main prizes from Grosvenor UK & Ireland, The Worshipful Company of Pewterers, Shad Thames Residents' Association and The Worshipful Company of Curriers. The question is who will win the prizes? This year we were spoiled for choice in all categories, but I am delighted with the awards we have made. On Wednesday we held our first ever Virtual Transition Dayfor our new Year 7 pupils. Click the picture above toexplore our transition page.

Although it was not how we had planned on holding the day,we were joined by eager pupils for our first ever virtual liveassembly led by Ms Hayward!

After finding out their house and LFT, pupils launchedthemselves into the activities: watching videos made bymembers of staff, English and Maths challenges, well-beingactivities and were even able to select their enrichmentoptions for September!

The feedback from the day was excellent with one pupilwriting "I can't wait to join your school", and another saying"I don't have any nerves - I just want to start!"

For the first time, pupils were able to bank some housepoints prior to starting in physical school and our newcohort are off to a great start!

We echo their sentiments and cannot wait to welcome ournew and existing pupils in September!
