1. Last date of Abstract submission: 30th August 2021 and will not be extended further

2. Acceptance of poster abstract for submission and presentation: 5th September 2021

3. Last date of Poster PPT and pre-recorded video submission: 10th September 2021

4. Poster presentations may be case report or case series or a study

5. Title page to be submitted as a separate word document under following headings: Title of the poster, Presenting author, Co-Authors, Institute, Designation, Mobile number, Email ID, CME Registration number.

6. Abstract needs to be submitted in a separate word document

7. Abstract headings:

Ÿ Case report or case series : Introduction, Case report/series and Conclusion – upto 250 words

Ÿ Study: Introduction, Materials and methods, Results and Conclusion – upto 300 words

8. Kindly ensure the correctness of the contents of the abstract before submitting.

9. Kindly do not mention the names of the authors, co- authors and name of the institute in the body of the abstract or poster or the video

10. Poster presentation Pattern:

11. Mode of submission of poster: PPT custom slide dimension [39.37 in (100cm) X 39.37 (100 cm)]to be sent to the CME E-mail address

13. Mode of presentation: pre-recorded Videos to be sent to CME E-mail address

14. Size of PPT – not to exceed 15 MB

15. Size of Video – not to exceed 5 min

About the Scientific Session

CMEs are great platforms which serve to maintain,

develop, or increase the knowledge, skills, and

professional performance. The educational material

available in such educational activities is most

sought off by both the consultants and the residents

alike. Keeping in view of the varied interests and

areas which needed greater focus, the department of

Pathology at PESIMSR has carefully chosen topics

which would be of use and interest to the practicing

pathologists in general and post graduates in

particular.

The role of a surgical pathologist in the evaluation of

biopsies from the heart is both fascinating and a

challenge in itself. The topic on endomyocardial

biopsy interpretation would be of value to the

consultant pathologists and the post graduates who

would later work in centers with active cardio thoracic

units. Cytology is an art which is rare to master. The

cytopathology of the respiratory tract is interesting

yet challenging. The lecture on the cytology of

lesions of the lung would surely be a visual treatise.

This would be complemented by a case seminar on

lung biopsies. Quality is the need of the hour. It is apt

for all the budding pathologists to be ready to meet

the market concerns and don the mantle of

consultants in this aspect too!! A lecture on this is

scheduled for a lively interaction.

To keep up the tempo of the CME, a slide seminar

and poster presentation has been scheduled for the

post graduates, which will encourage the young

brains to kindle their grey matter
