VIRGINIA: At a special called meeting of the Tazewell County School Board held at Tazewell Middle School on December 5, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. PRESENT: David Woodard, Chairman Chris Moir, Vice‐Chair Jimmy Jones, Member Donna Whittington, Member George Brown, Division Superintendent Vicki Bailey, Clerk ABSENT: H. S. Caudill, Member Mr. Woodard called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and welcomed everyone in attendance. John Brown, Tazewell High School student, asked to pray before the meeting. Members of the Richlands High School Choir and Richlands Middle School Eighth Grade Choir sang “America the Beautiful” and “Pledge of Allegiance”. Students from all schools were recognized for various accomplishments by principals, teachers, and coaches. (see attached program) Chairman Woodard read aloud a resolution honoring the Graham High School State 2A Competition Cheer Champions. Mrs. Moir made a motion to approve the resolution honoring the Graham High School Competition Cheer Champions. Mr. Jones seconded the motion, and the Board approved as follows: Mrs. Whittington– Aye, Mr. Jones – Aye, Mrs. Moir – Aye, Chairman Woodard – Aye At the conclusion of the recognitions, Chairman Woodard expressed appreciation for those attending. Mr. Jones made a motion to adjourn at 9:12 p.m. Mrs. Whittington seconded the motion, and the Board unanimously approved (4‐0).
