VIPER LIVE LINE BIRD FLAPPER.

Be sure to read and completely understand this procedure before applying product. Be sure to select the proper PREFORMED product before application.

1. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE:

Step 1.1 Grip clamps at locations shown below and pull clamp open to its maximum extent. The springs will maintain the clamp in the open position shown below. WARNING: SPRINGS ARE EXTREMELY STRONG AND MAY CAUSE INJURY IF NECESSARY CARE IS NOT EXERCISED

Step 1.2 Insert suitable tool such as a disconnect hook through small eye as shown. If installing under live conditions, ensure correct live line equipment is used as per your company procedure.

Step 1.3 Lift clamp up to the conductor. Clamp should rest on hook in position shown with hooks or “fangs” uppermost.

Step 1.4 Locate fangs on the conductor.

Step 1.5 Pull down on the hook with a short, sharp tug to snap the clamp closed on the conductor.

Step 1.6 Remove applicator hook. Installation is complete.

2. REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Step 2.1 Insert suitable hook tool into large eye.

Step 2.2 Pull downwards to open clamp.

Step 2.3 Lift hook up to rotate open clamp around conductor such as shown.

Step 2.4 Lower the clamp off the conductor. Close clamp once in hand to prevent accidental injury. WARNING: SPRINGS ARE EXTREMELY STRONG AND MAY CAUSE INJURY IF NECESSARY CARE IS NOT EXERCISED
