CHOREOGRAPHERS
SYDNEY CHATTERTONHow did you create the movement for
your piece? I used a lot of improv from myself as well as mydancers. I gave prompts of daydreaming, goofy,
feel-good movement, and the stresses of life.
HALI BOSS What will you miss most about your
experience as a dance major at BYU?The thing that I will miss most about my experienceas a BYU dance ed major will be seeing my friendseveryday. I have been so blessed to get to know so
many amazing people here at BYU that have alwaystaken the time to be there for me when I needed
them. I will miss spending countless hours with themand wish them the best of luck!
CASSIDY BAUGH What is the best part of being a dance
education major? I love learning about how to be the best possibleteacher for my students. Making students happyand watching them grow brings me so much joy,and this major has given me the tools to do so.

TERA TAYLOR EGBERTWhat did you learn from the process of creating
your piece?I have had the best experience creating my piece andhave learned so much from the experience. I owe a bigthank you to my amazing dancers who worked so hardand truly brought my vision to life. I learned how the
process of creation can be challenging but sorewarding. I loved how in this process I was able to
combine my ideas with my dancers' creative ideas tocreate the piece and bring it to life.
EMMA HANSEN What was the most rewarding part of creating
your senior piece? The most rewarding part of creating my senior piece was
working with new people. I also really focused on challengingmy natural movement motifs, and spacing patterns on the
stage with this piece, and it has been rewarding to feel like Ihave accomplished that. I also just love creating work to be
showcased on the stage. I am looking forward to moreopportunities to achieve this goal!
EMMA TERRYHow did your experience as a dance major influence
your choreography? During my time at BYU I've learned more about myself and myvalues. I've also had so many amazing faculty who have helped
me learn new ways to create movement. I used many of thechoreographic devices I learned here to explore topics that felt
important to me.
CHOREOGRAPHERS
EMMALYNN PACE *Emmalynn's choreography was featured in the danceEnsemble
concert.*
What was the inspiration for your piece? I wanted to do a piece about my personal journey with finding self
confidence and assertiveness. One night, my roommate waswatching Hello Dolly and jokingly suggested I use the song “It Takesa Woman” to make a satirical feminist dance. I actually loved theidea. I have always loved musicals so I decided to roll with it byfinding more sexist songs from my favorite musicals to create anarrative commentary about female confidence. I have enjoyed
combining two of my passions to create my senior choreographicproject.

TRAJECTORY
Note from the choreographer: Attimes we all feel life and
circumstances are going our way,we are on an uphill, feeling
content and happy. Then a wallmay hit and we are stopped, taking us back to square one,
going downhill instead of uphill. How can we heal from thesewalls and have resilience?
