Front End Any independent or non independent plastic, aluminum or Delrin front end may be used as long as it meets the 1-1/8th inch max width requirement. Aurora aluminum speed wheels are ok also. No brass weighted front ends in this class. Mounted front tires shall be equal to or greater than 0.320" diameter. Rear Tires and Rims Rear tires shall be equal to or greater than 0.350" diameter and a maximum width of .095. Stock Dash, T-Jet or Replacement wheels (single or double flanged) are legal. Rear rims shall be aluminum, plastic, nylon or Delrin. No weighted hubs allowed. NOTE - Don't use the X Factor Fairground (Mopar Mountain) style wheels and tires from Balls Out Racing or the Nostalgia class rims and tires from RT-HO. They are both too wide for this class! Axles - Axles shall not exceed 1-1/8” (1.125”) in length. Any axle material may be used. For example, steel, drill rod, brass, tungsten, stainless steel. Guide Pin Stock or any commercial readily available plastic or Delrin T-Jet guide pin Maximum width 1-1/8” (1.125”) All 4 tires must touch and roll Body - Injection molded plastic and Resin bodies only for this class from Aurora, Dash, Road Race Replicas, MEV or Johnny Lightning/Autoworld etc. NO ONE-OFF BODIES ALLOWED. Corvette bodies are not legal for this class. Fray style bodies are not legal for this class. You may NOT cut out hood or trunk for the purpose of the body mounting below or around the top plate. Inside of bodies may be trimmed for clearance and bodies may be lowered. Light trimming of the wheel wells for now. All bodies must have front and rear glass included! You may trim the windshield to include the front windshield and rear window. The side windows and top portion of the widow piece may be removed to improve the handling and for oiling. Hint: Dash Camaros are legal even if they don't fit through the tech block. Chassis with rims/tires however must fit through the block. Acceptable Bodies include: Barracuda, Dart, Challenger, Camaro, Nova, Mustang, Falcon, Cougar, AMC Javelin, Firebird, '64 GTO. Vintage Trans-Am Class Tips and Recommendations Front End - It's best to make full use of the 1 and 1/8th width. Fast Lane Racing kits are available in both Delrin and aluminum and are sold at all NJHOSCR races. RT HO makes a 1.085 front end that can easily be shimmed out to 1-1/8th inch. His axle needs to be cut to size anyway. Balls Out makes a 1 inch front end that can be made wider but with an additional axle. You can make your own front end in the class as well, as long as it is not weighted by using brass wheels and remains within the width limit. An Indy axle with stock plastic or aftermarket Delrin rims will work fine, as long as the axle is straight and the wheels are true! Balls Out Racing has skinny class rims that will work great for this combo. If you prefer an independent front end, using a tube axle and Aurora wheels combination (with slightly bent pins to keep the wheels on the tube) will provide a front end solution that performs very well. Make sure you limit your pickup shoes just to the bottom of the tire, no matter what front end you choose. You don't have any extra weight on the front in this class, so proper pick up shoe tension and limiting will help to keep your car in the slot! Rear Wheels and Tires - Fast Lane Racing rear aluminum and Delrin rims are available at all NJHOSCR races. Also, RT HO and Balls Out make great Delrin rims. Just be careful to match the rim to the tire you wish to run. Both companies have skinny class rims and tires in two widths. The rim and tire combo legal for our class, from RT HO, are the RT 295 rim, paired with the RT 285 tires. They are called skinny silicone T-Jet tires. Balls Out has Delrin rims for the front that are sized for stock rubber tires or O-ring tires (too narrow for silicone tires). His skinny class rear rims match up nicely with his skinny class silicone tires, which are available in two compounds, soft and firm. NOTE - Do not use X Factor Fairground (Mopar Mountain style wheels and tires) from Balls Out, RT HO or other "Nostalgia" style rim and tire combos for this class as they are too wide.
