LORD WHAT FOOLS THESE MORTALS BE! TICKETS ON SALE NOW FOR A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM

Fort Walton Beach High School Theatre will present Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream Thursday, Friday and Saturday November 1-3 at 7:00pm, and Sunday November 4 at 2:00pm at Ft. Walton Beach High School, 400 Hollywood Boulevard, Ft. Walton Beach. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ft. Walton Beach High School, director Christa Whittaker sets this beloved comedy in 1968, when the Vikings moved into their new digs, the vibes of Woodstock were still reverberating throughout the nation, and “peace, love and rock and roll” was the catchphrase of a new generation. The story begins the week of Senator Theseus’ (Darby Ellis) wedding to the glamorous Hippolyta (Emily Weideman), and preparations for a celebration concert in Athens’ park are well underway with the help of wedding planner Philostrate (Trey Crouse). Unfortunately, the senator’s chief of staff Egeus (James Leon) is beside himself because his daughter Hermia (Baillie Jones) refuses to marry the man he has chosen for her, the rising young politician Demetrius (Cole Farrah) who is stalked by her obsessed friend Helena (Lily Felten). Hermia decides to elope with the man she really loves, Lysander (Connor Russell), and when Demetrius finds out about their escape he starts out after them with Helena in hot pursuit. Not to be left out of the festivities, roadie Peter Quince (Joseph Zylak), spurred on by his assistant Nick Bottom (Kameron Murray) has convinced his crew (Zoe Thomas, Hannah Rezzarday, Iggy Yoder, Charles Fredrickson) to put on a play to be performed at the Senator’s wedding reception. Despite the fact that they have no experience, they begin to rehearse a tragedy that they believe will impress Theseus. Meanwhile, the two rock legends Titania (Lexi Larkin) and Oberon (Parissh Phillips) slated to play at the wedding celebration are in the midst of a nasty lover’s spat, and Oberon sends his lackey Puck (Carson Klaus) in search of a flower with magical love-inducing properties so that he can get revenge on her. When the love potion gets applied to the wrong lovers, chaos ensues. During a play rehearsal, Puck transforms Bottom into an ass to create havoc, and soon Titania and her groupies (Theresa LaNasa, Jessica Lambert, Lily Nunez, Katrina Leon) are madly in love with him. A Midsummer Night’s Dream follows the misadventures of mortals and gods alike as they are manipulated by the strange, mind-altering powers of love. Tickets are $10 and are available at the school office, P.S. Gifts on Walter Martin Road in Ft. Walton Beach, and from cast members. Make plans now to attend

Please include your student’s legal first and last name, grade, dates of the absence, and dismissal times (if necessary) on the note. Phone calls for checkouts will not be permitted. Also, please do not fax in a request for a student to check out (there is not a fax machine in the attendance office). Yearbook News ReplayIT APP Contact: S. Thetford ([email protected]) Anyone – student, parent, coach, innocent bystander – can take a picture at a school event and share it with the Yearbook Staff via the ReplayIt app. We also have accounts on Twitter and Instagram: @fwbhsyearbook19 and fwbhsyearbook2019 respectively. The ReplayIt app by Jostens is available for iPhones and Android phones in the App Store. Jostens reviews the pictures sent to us and filters out anything

Page 13: Viking Voice - OCSD Home | OKALOOSA SCHOOLS · Titania and her groupies (Theresa LaNasa, Jessica Lambert, Lily Nunez, Katrina ... P.S. Gifts on Walter Martin Road in Ft. Walton Beach,

obscene or questionable before any student (or I) could see it. They also filter out photos of poorer quality that would not be usable in the Yearbook. Jostens loads all qualified pictures into our photo cache so that we can access them as we create the pages of our yearbook. With ReplayIt, we are also able to give a byline credit to anyone who submits a photo we use. **Please click on “I don’t see my school” the first time that you use ReplayIt, and type in as “Ft. Walton Beach High School”. After that it should pop up automatically. ReplayIt works well for one photo at a time. If you have a bunch of photos to share, please email them to [email protected]. Please help us especially when there are off-campus or far-away events.
