F e a t u r e s a n d B e n e f i t s

The EasiRange comprises:

EasiClampIt is estimated that in manycountries upto 30% of all treatedwater is lost from distributionpipelines through leakage*.EasiClamp is a robust, high strengthrepair clamp that is designed to helpcombat this wastage. EasiClampoffers the end user a quick,guaranteed, first time seal on anytype of pipe damage. NB: If the extent of the pipe damageis greater than the length of theclamp, it is recommended that a cutout repair is undertaken.* UK Water Industry estimate.

EasiTapEasiTap provides a quick, cost-effective method of installing or replacing service pipe connectionswhilst under operating pressure. The connections can therefore becarried out without any interruptionto the water supply. It has the samedesign features as the EasiClampand incorporates either a femalethreaded outlet or a drilled andtapped boss, to allow simpleunderpressure connections to bemade using standard drillingequipment.

EasiTeeEasiTee allows flanged branch pipeconnections to be made to anexisting water main, whilst itremains pressurised. It thereforereduces costs as interruption tosupply is avoided. EasiTee isavailable in a comprehensive rangeof main and outlet sizes.

EasiCollarEasiCollar is an adaptable repaircollar that provides an effective,permanent repair to leaking spigotand socket joints. Due to its abilityto be installed whilst the main isunder operating pressure, iteliminates costly and timeconsuming water mains shut downs.

Permanent SealEasiRange products guarantee a reliable,permanent seal even on badly corrodedpipes (see Figure 1). Incorporated withinevery EasiRange product, except theRingSeal EasiTee, is Viking Johnsons’unique 100% circumferential ‘Waffle’gasket which performs a leaktight sealand also caters for circumferential orlongitudinal cracks. The RingSealEasiTee uses a twin seal gasket toprovide a permanent seal at the point of tapping.

Minimise StockholdingEasiRange products offer the customerthe ability to reduce stocks due to theirwide pipe outside diameter tolerancerange. This allows one fitting to suitmost popular materials of the samenominal bore. The tolerance range willvary according to the product type andsize (see product tables).

High StrengthEasiRange products are constructed ofductile and/or malleable iron or steel halfhousings, giving them the benefit of highstrength. The products will support andseal around the pipe for the full length of the body, ensuring that sealingeffectiveness is maintained in allcircumstances. The inherent strength ofthe EasiRange products will cater forcircumferential pipe shear and alsorealign pipes.

Ease of InstallationEasiRange products allow rapid and easy installation even under adverse siteconditions. All the products, exceptMattSeal and RingSeal, feature selfretaining bolts. No specialist installationequipment is required, simply a torquewrench to confirm correct bolt torque.

Corrosion ProtectionEasiRange products are well equipped towithstand transport, storage, site andcorrosion damage, eliminating the needfor further protection such as on-sitewrapping. For long-term corrosionprotection the EasiRange componentsare coated in Rilsan Nylon 11 asstandard. The nuts and bolts are coatedin either Rilsan Nylon 11 or Sheraplex(at the discretion of Viking Johnson).Sheraplex meets WIS 4-52-03.Rilsan Nylon 11 has approval to WIS 4-52-01 (Part 1), which demandthe highest adhesion, flexibility,penetration and impact resistancecharacteristics.

Pressure RatingThe complete EasiRange is suitable for a 16bar (230psi) working pressure and a test pressure of 24bar (350psi).

The EasiTee range comprises threeproducts, Universal, MattSeal andRingSeal, with distinct characteristicsand features with each one. The following section will help youdifferentiate between these products and make your choice.


Permanent SealUnique ‘Waffle’ gasket, guarantees a firsttime permanent seal for the Universaland MattSeal. The RingSeal uses a twinseal gasket to provide a permanent sealat the point of tapping.

Reduces StockUniversal EasiTee features a pipe outsidediameter tolerance range of up to 26mm,which means that one fitting will suit themajority of pipe ODs for the samenominal bore. MattSeal and RingSealoffer a total tolerance range of 12mm(+/- 6mm on the required pipe OD).

Pipe MaterialsUniversal is suitable for cast iron, ductile iron, steel and PE (providing itfalls within the OD range of the fitting).MattSeal and RingSeal are made tomeasure to suit cast iron (AB and CD),ductile iron and steel.

High StrengthEasiTee has ductile and/or malleable iron or steel bodies that reinforce thepipeline and help to form the seal around the full length of the tee (on the Universal and MattSeal).

Ease of InstallationThe Universal EasiTee allows a rapidassembly due to the swing over boltaction and unique hinged bridging plates, that deflect during bolt up.Universal EasiTee also forms an effective seal with just 4 or 6 bolts,speeding assembly time. The reduced weight of the RingSeal aids its installation.

Corrosion ProtectionAll components are coated with Rilsan Nylon 11 as standard. Universal EasiTees are supplied withFluorine coated nuts and bolts.

RingSeal EasiTee offers a lighter, quickeroption for many underpressure drillingsituations. The range incorporates asingle gasket between the host main andthe branch, and can be used on anymetallic pipe. Size for size branches arepossible except when used on cast iron.For cast iron, Viking Johnson recommendthat RingSeal is not used where thebranch diameter exceeds 70% of thehost main diameter. For suchapplications use MattSeal EasiTee. The lighter construction of RingSealEasiTee means that installation time is greatly reduced, offering substantialon-site savings.
