Visual Art Callout: Al Fresco ArtLive Darwin Arts invites you to submit an artwork for consideration as a part of The Al Fresco Art project.

The last few months have seen the growing integration of art into our city centre. The aims of this project are to put vibrant examples of Northern Territory contemporary art in the public realm.

Submissions should reflect the people, places, eccentricities, emotions and natural environments that define our city.

Project Details

This project will see printed reproductions of existing/new work by selected local practicing artists displayed in windows around the CBD, contributing to the growing public art collection of Darwin. Work will be displayed from December 2017 until June 2018. Successful artists will receive an $800 fee for the use of their artwork.

Existing or new work will be accepted. Submissions of existing work are recommended due to the tight time frames.

Work will be reproduced on adhesive vinyl as a window decal. To be displayed in the window of a Darwin CBD shopfront or arcade until the end of June 2018. Final selection and allocated shopfront will be decided by the Producers and business owners,

but will ultimately be dependent on size of artwork vs the size of the window. Please keep these kind of restrictions in mind.

Treat this work as you would any other piece in a gallery. For example, if being hung in a gallery you would have it framed, feel free to include a frame in your image.

The piece will also be accompanied by an exhibit label designed and produced by live Darwin Arts.

Please ensure you submit a high resolution .jpeg or .pdf file. All applicants must be Northern Territory Residents.
