LED Lighting

Advantages:

As the energy chips are small- heat generation is low. Most of the energy is converted to light.

If the heat generated is drawn away by a heat sink the chips will last a long time. From 3 years (bad design) to 20 years.

With good planning there can be a lot less cabling and time involved in installing.

Maintenance time and costs are reduced; lamps probably do not need replacing in your tenure.

Superior insulation factor is easily achieved by use of surface LED fittings.

Plan:

Effective lighting is achieved by selecting appropriate fittings. One 20 W surface downlight equals 4 halogen 50W spots.

Relevant lighting plans save on cable and labour. Layout for electricians pre-wire before Gib board installed.

Off the grid, marine and motor homes:

Lighting is critical to tasks and reduced stress. LED lights are energy efficient to run, so all round effective lighting can be achieved.

LED lights run on DC power. DC power is transmitted efficiently resulting in the use of light conductors and the possibility of long runs.

Good light fittings run on 9v to 30vDC power. To calculate the Amp hours- divide total wattage by voltage.

PROLITE SURFACE DOWNLITES

Down light 13 watt and 20 watt

Surface mounting light fittings are the most economic and energy efficient method of lighting.

Suitable for inside or outside use - domestic, mobile homes, marine, industrial, blast freezers, car park buildings.

Prolite surface downlites have a 140 light spread. This results in even light across the room and a lack of shadows due to light bounce off walls and furnishings.

One 20 Watt surface downlite is the approximate light equivalent of 3 x 50W halogen dichroic lamps or 400 watts of incandescent lamps.

Prolite surface downlites avoid the need to penetrate the ceiling. This saves energy as heat does not escape and get wasted in the roof space.

Prolite downlites are dimmable, but LEDs in general do not dim as well as incandescent lamps.

13 watt, 160 mm dia x a slim 22 mm. Warm white, comfort light (3,500Kelvin). Perfect for small spaces such as passages, each illuminates 3 metre x 1 metre, or two for a bathroom.

20 watt, 210 mm dia. Warm white, comfort light (3,500Kelvin). Each illuminates approx. 3 x 3 metre, so 2 is perfect for a kitchen. 3 or 4 for a lounge.

Prolite Soffit lights have varied uses, theyre perfect for marine and motor home purposes. Three in a motor home is more than adequate light. A boat can be illuminated, meeting all needs economically.

Prolite Soffit lights illuminate wall features and pathways with a warm soft effect. More than sufficient to illuminate an outdoor table or seating area. Each 3 watt light is roughly equivalent in light output to a 20 watt halogen dichroic lamp.

Movement detector PIR switch

The 4.5 watt (330 mm) is perfectly suited as a reading or study light, marine and motor home. Switched or non- switched for remote control, warm white for reading or cool white as a task light. The same options are available for the 10 watt model which is excellent for situations such as pantries, under shelf and the like.

Prolite Lighting Ltd manufacture the Courtesy Light entirely in New Zealand and we confidently stand behind the overall quality.

Only .3 watts each results in only one driver being required for up to 34 fittings per one 12 watt driver. Very economic to run, can run 24 hours.

Totally sealed makes them useful for all outdoor purposes and having no heat emissions means that they can be installed in building materials directly without heat cans or clearances.

They fit in a 27 mm hole and have a 40 mm diameter polished marine grade 316 stainless steel flange. Two colours warm white or blue. Operating on 12- 24 vDC.

INDUSTRIAL STYLE SHADE C/W 12W LED

The Prolite industrial shade is supplied in a ready state, 370 mm diameter and 200 mm high.

Very quick to install with the unique ceiling roses, pre- wired with a one metre flex.

The shade is made of heavy duty aluminium, epoxy coated for log service. Standard colour is Flint (PE546/6017)- a pleasant light grey.

The light source is a 12 watt LED fitting with an even light spread. Warm white (3,500K), 30,000 hour life. The LED fitting is dimmable and is approx. equivalent to a 100 watt incandescent or 2 x 50 watt 12v halogen dichroic lamps.

BULKHEADS- VANDAL RESISTANT, DOUBLE INSULATED, IP66

These are the answer when you need good looking but robust lighting. Made in New Zealand to exacting standards.

A wide variety of lighting options in both voltage and light output.

These bulkheads, with green diffusers and 18 watt fluorescent u tubes, were installed underneath the Petone wharf in 2004. In southerly storms the whole installation is subject to violent wave action with the bulkheads being totally punished. The bulk heads have survived and are operating satisfactorily as at June 2016.
